Do you need a script for telemarketing

I'm just wondering do I actually need a script for telemarketing? I've always been told that a script is one of the essentials with telemarketing.

I'm new to telemarketing and intend to try web consulting as well as web development but I have no idea how or what to write in a script. I'm also not very good at reading of script and more better at responsive conversation.

With this in mind do I really require a script when calling someone. If anyone knows of any good WSO that includes script for web development and web consulting please share it.

Thanks

Huh... I'd say know the product well and just be comfortable talking. I feel like those who need a script will either A) sound scripted or B) sound like they don't know what they're talking about

Ever called a call center or help center and obviously known the person had no idea what is going on?

You don't want to sound like that. Know what you're selling and be comfortable selling it.

Thanks, I'm just horrible at reading off scripts. It cause me to stumble and freeze so I was hoping to either find a good script to memorize or perhaps tyr to wing it without a script.

Just wanted to know if anyone has tried that and if it was successful.

A script is nothing more than a training tool to help you capture your message and learn to repeat it consistently. The goal is always to memorize the high points of your script and be able to ab lib the in-between info based on the person you are calling.

    hi!...

I'm doing Telemarketing before actually all you need is the description of the product, details of the company and that's it you gonna have an overview of what would the conversation turns to... just be bubly and friendly. One more thing always put confidence in your voice...

We've always used scripts in other business. Don't think of it as something you are obliged to read from, but think of it as a guide to stay on track, otherwise, people can get you off track and waste your time.

It depends who is doing the telecanning.

If you are using telesales staff then yes you need a script that they use as a guide to keep them on track. You also have to train them and a script helps with that.

But if it is you doing the telecanning then no not really because you know your subject back to front.
