My site is no longer indexed in google and even won't show up in my browser(just white blank page).

How can I tell if it was banned or penalized?

Thanks,

Aaron

    Hi AaronJones,

If your site contains no content, then yes, Google will drop it from their index. This does not mean it's banned only that it's not suitable for their index in it's current state.

Fix your site, get a few backlinks and Google will re-index your site.

If the content of the website is not good and effective than the google will drop it from its index, but it does't mean that it will banned or penalised, but if we reconstruct means like stuffing good content and other stuff google will consider it again so there is no need of worrying about it.

    Hi Aaron -

When you say that your site is no longer indexed in Google how did you check this? Most places that search for your site in Google's listings only check up to the first 1,000 listings so your site could have been at 1,001 or 1,002.

To be banned in Google means you are no where to be found. To check this go to Google and in the search box type site:TheNameOfYourSite.com.

If something shows up, then you are not banned.

If nothing shows up, your site was probably banned.

Since you're just getting a white page with nothing whatsoever on it, my guess is that it's something on your side - the index page not uploaded correctly, accidentally deleted, could have been a web host issue, it could be a multitude of things.

Is your site an Adult site? Well, anyway, I guess you misconfigured something. But if you have not done any changes at all from the date your site appears on the index of google until now, I think your web host is the problem. But that was just a guess, just check it.

And IowaGal got most of the point.

To determine whether your site is currently included in Google's index, do a site: search for your site's URL. For example, a search for [ site:google.com ].
Although Google crawls billions of pages, it's inevitable that some sites will be missed. When our spiders miss a site, it's frequently for one of the following reasons:

      • The site isn't well connected through multiple links from other sites on the web.
      • The site launched after Google's most recent crawl was completed.
      • The design of the site makes it difficult for Google to effectively crawl its content.
      • The site was temporarily unavailable when we tried to crawl it or we received an error when we tried to crawl it. You can use Google Webmaster Tools to see if we received errors when trying to crawl your site.
Consider creating and submitting a detailed Sitemap of your pages. Sitemaps are an easy way for you to submit all your URLs to the Google index and get detailed reports about the visibility of your pages on Google. With Sitemaps, you can automatically keep us informed of all of your current pages and any updates you make to those pages.

You might check via searching multiple google data centers to see if it is a fluke with one or happening across the board.
