AMAZING! 110,000 Exact Searches and Low SOC but...

Alright, so I was searching for some new niches within Micro Niche Finder today and found a term that has 110,000 exact match searches per month, an SOC of 28 and an average ad cost of over $2.00. Everything sounds great.

When I searched the term in Google, I found that the top 10 was held by mostly large American companies that have pr 6 and 7 home pages, which are the pages showing for the term. They have backlink counts in the thousands also. Now its not looking so good.

I use MNF everyday and always have had good luck going off the SOC variable within the program. In fact, I often go for and rank keywords with much higher SOC's than 28, however, the pages ranking for this term scare me a bit.

I will say that the exact phrase is not found in any of the page titles or meta descriptions, so they are not optimized for this term at all, but they are heavy hitters.

Since MNF has never steered me wrong on difficulty, I want to go for it, but am curious if this is in fact a possible search term to rank for with a micro niche site. What are you guys' opinions on the subject?

I would buy it. what you got to lose? $9 bucks

Last night I found a good two word generic product with a soc of 20100. But only shopping results in the top 10 all pr0 and a MOB of 1. I bought it.

    Got nothing to lose.

Yeah, thats kind of what I was thinking, but my concern wasn't so much in buying the domain as it was spending the amount of time needed to rank for the term only to find out that the competition is just to tough.

I'll probably end up going for it, I hate to pass up on that kind of traffic, but it still is a little intimidating.

Did you dig a little deeper and get the MOB from MNF?

        That is the true test.

What the heck hit it with IMautomator and a few links see where it ends up.

        Good luck

I just happen to post a thread about SOC that you may want to read before committing a lot of time, effort, or money to your keyword phrase:

For me it all boils down to 2 things.
      1. how many links do they have
2, what's their keyword density like.

If they have some links 100K plus but no keywords (all zeros) then I will still get after it.

If their keywords are right on and they only have 1K links I won't go there.
      hope that helps,
