Are these really competitive terms?

I'm trying to determine how competitive the keywords that I am going after. I'm using a domain name that I've had for about a year now, so it's not brand new but it's never had any content on it. The domain name contains part of keyword 3.

I've attached 3 screenshots from market samurai of the keywords that I am specifically going after. The pages that have optimized for the keyword are listed on top. The one that I am most curious about is keyword 3. The top 3 results are .gov sites and wikipedia. Do I have a chance against these sites? The only reason I think I have a chance is for two reasons, they haven't been updated since 2006 and they are "optimized" for the SINGULAR form of the keyword. Are my suspicions valid? If they are optimized for the singular form and I am optimized for the plural, can I outrank them for the plural keyword?

You can rank for anything if you know what you are doing and the amount of effort you can invest, both in time and capital.

But one thing for sure, on page seo alone is not going to get you anywhere but through the front door...

Bottomline go for it, I have told hundreds of times over the last ten years in IMKT that I will never rank for term x, I often have and have made tremendous amounts of revenue from those efforts.

Here is a flip side of your choice... Its only going to get harder to rank for every term in the English language from this point out, Just get started and never look back..
