Hi Guys

I am going to be building a affiliate site (clickbank) and have Short term traffic through videos and Article marketing. THe goal is to rank for some pretty competitive words in the long term (6-12 months).

I really appreciate any answers and guidance.

My question is, how would you set up the site itself?

1.Would you have a site full of articles like the WOW site Mark Ling has made and then drive traffic to a review?

2. Would you just create a blog and have 5-6 posts in there with the top one being a product review?

3. What templates can you recommend?

The best thing for you to do is to build an authority site. Create posts on a daily basis on topics relating internet and affiliate marketing.

If your domain is new, than you should probably focus more on the content than on link building at first.

You can simply research the niche you are looking to enter and see what the competition is doing and how they build there sites. If it works for them, it can probably work for you.

Most affiliate product review sites are using the Flexsqueeze theme, at least the major sites and that could also tell you something. I don't know if the theme really helps the rankings and their success, but if you will check, you will see that many of those authority type of review sites use the Flexsqueeze theme.

I think making blog is not a good suggestion for affiliate site. I think its better that you make a website with one page and write all features of your product on it. Its the way which is using by most affiliate websites. I don't think making a blog can't make money for your affiliate purpose.
