Hi Brainy folks,

I have a Wordpress site which hosts 500+ articles.

It uses the default theme.

It was the latest version of Wordpress back in June.

Question #1 What is the best way to put Adsense onto the site...

#2 Will I need a plugin...and if so which one will be the best for this situation?

Thanks guys and girls!

All the best,
Ewen

#1 Copy and paste the Adsense code into the article post template wherever you want it to appear

    #2 No

Adsense Daemon (free plugin) works great for me and it allows you to place adsense on various locations of your theme.

First response was a good one. Here's what I do. Go to single.php file in the wordpress theme, then insert this code right where your content should start:

    <div><span style="float:left;">**Adsense Code Here**</span></div>

This puts the ad block inside the content floated to the left so the text wraps around the content. Highest CTR and ads it to every page. You can also do this with any ad unit just place it where you want, remove the spans if you don't want to float it.

      Brilliant!

      No messing around with plugins.

When you say wrap around and left,
are you talking top, left and under
      each article?

      All the best,
      Ewen

I think the best thing for you to do is use an plugin that will insert the ads into all of your existing posts.

Maybe even changing to an adsense optimized theme that can make it a lot easier for you.

I persoannly use HeatMap theme and it works great for me. You can check it out at: WordPress Adsense Ready Theme - HeatMap Theme

You can edit all the adsense codes for 500 articles at once(or any articles in a folder) using find&replace software that came in 1 particular WSO(i'd have to search my desktop).

      First time running Adsense.

Why would I need to edit all Adsense codes?

      All the best,
      Ewen

There is a WP plugin that allows you to place where you like your adsense codes to be located at any section of your blog. It's called "whydowork-adsense."

I thought you meant that you had downloaded a website(like one of those PLR packs that come with 60 page websites and a default adsense code).

In such a case it is tedious to edit 60 pages manually and paste in your code, so one would use an automated tool.

          George,

Each article was individually loaded into my Wordpress site I set up.

Do you know if there is a review process on your website by Google
after they give you your code?

          Thank you for your help.

          All the best,
          Ewen

            Hi,

just purchased an established blog over at Flippa.com.
It has had the "All in One Adsense and YPN!" plugin installed, which seems to be pretty cool. Just inserted MY publisher ID and the channel and it showed up immediately.

Copy | paste is not something I prefer btw, haha. If you change your theme, you have to start over again!

              Hey Sven,

Just did some research on that plugin.

The developer has admitted he has coded in his id's to skim off part of your earnings.

He says to turn off the ID number and put yours in plus shows you where the code is if you also want to remove it.

Just Google the name of the plugin and you will see the post.

I guess he's banking on people missing that option so he skims off lots of accounts!

              All the best,
              Ewen

For tracking and testing in ways other scripts
      don't provide.
