Hey guys! Something really weird is going on. I live in Atlanta and when I type my keyword into Google, my site comes up on the first page as the 2nd result BUT when I ask friends down in Florida to type in the keyword, I AM NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. How weird is that??? I tried clearing my cookies and cache, no luck. Any thoughts?? Thanks

John

That's just Google f%&*ing with you.
Google has used the geo location of the DNS IP for a long time. But all of a sudden this seems to have become the first consideration, then relevance as opposed to the previous relevance then geo location.
Google shares zero information on any of their changes, we all know that. Instead we are left to run around like blind mice and it's really made me lose my patience, for what it's worth, with Google.

Some people have lost up to 80% of their clicks because if this.

In a way it gives an advantage to local businesses in the rankings, but it screws everyone else.

Optimize your site from the eyes of someone for example, in Florida. You may need to use a service like "hidemyip" or "hidemyass" to check your rankings although I think google is on to that too.
