Can you post the vendor's site as a display URL with AdWords???

Example:
display url is: www.vendorsite.com

dest. url is:

djurweAwE43ur49ok.hop.clickbank.com
(REDIRECT)

www.vendorsite.com/?hop=AFFID

Is it ok to do this? It seems to comply with Adword's guidelines but I am unsure if it is with Clickbank's guidelines!

Thanks!

No It is not. This is called direct linking and will get you banned. Try it on Yahoo PPC or Facebook ads, you can do it there.

      WRONG.

You can do it. It's not a problem, nor is it against any rules.

You might have better chances making something work with nik.im - the social media linking solution - home - Their pro service has a lot of features. I have to register myself a new short domain so I can officially test it out myself, but you could ask if there's a way to accomplish your goal with nik.im you might get the answer you are looking for, or he might just create it for the next update... never know...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we've created this feature with AdMasks, if I'm reading your question correctly.

      Many vendors prohibit this.
Which in turn would eliminate you using adwords if you can
only send people to that url.

If your ad says ho-hum-product.com, and a click on the
ad does not go to ho-hum-product.com, well...

Despite what Jan said, direct linking is allowed. What you suggest will work and not against the rules. As long as the visitor reaches the domain you have displayed in your ad after all redirects. That's the rule in simple terms: the domain name you see in your browser's address bar must be the one specified in the ad.

I apologize for being wrong on this one. I've heard many times that direct linking will get you banned but it looks like that was wrong.

If you are going to direct link, having the display url match the resolved destination url is REQUIRED.

        Example:
        display url is: www.vendorsite.com

        dest. url is:
        djurweAwE43ur49ok.hop.clickbank.com
        (REDIRECT)

        Since your url resolves to
        www.vendorsite.com/?hop=AFFID

You must use www.vendorsite.com for your display url.

It is important to know that Google will only allow one ad to point to a website at a time.

This means that if the vendor or other affiliates are also promoting this vendors site, you will have to outbid them to get your ad shown at all.

This is why it is much better to set up your own review site or domain/landing page to send traffic to. You can optimize you page for quality score and do not get the Mulitple affiliate penalty.
