Ok guys i had seen a blog post wher the author was saying that he made 3500 backlinks in a day......thats right in a day

So my question is if i make a new site and get these many backink on the first day itself will i get labelled as spam or blacklisted or whatever by Google ???

How many backlinks according to you should i get on the first day ? and how many from the following days ?
#backlinks #day #google #penalize
  • Nothing you do from outside your main domain can penalize your website. This is something Google has made clear to prevent other webmasters from messing with your rankings on purpose. Second, Google will probably not find all of those links in the same day, so they may never know.

People do this all the time. It's fine.

ya just don't ping all the bookmarks. Just let it be and don't ping it all. Google won't find this 3500 backlinks at once.

I assume that only 20-200 of this links will last after 6 months and some are still not QUALITY backlinks, but not to let you down still a good shot depends on the price...

I wouldn't get so wrapped up in the number of links. It's all about diversification and quality...

If I were you -- I would go with a service that has been reviewed in this, or another, forum.

        Linkdozer, linkvine, senuke, Evo2, etc...

But if you did use the service you're speaking of -- 1) don't ping the links 2) manually create some profile links and set-up profiles/pages on 2.0 site's like squidoo

This is simply not true. If you ever heard Matt talk about this subject, he always seems to hedge the position that "Nothing you do from outside your main domain can penalize your website".

People do all sorts of stuff all the time - doesn't make it fine!

I disagree with this, I know what Google have said about this in the past - but this doesn't fit with what I have experienced in the past.

People do different things daily to achieve top ranking in search engines. If you had made such a links in a day. Then your site could be penalize but everything depands on google. Nobody can say 100% about this.

i think that guy is using an automated link building software to get that number of links.. but if a team of link builders is working for him, its a different story.

    Hi KoolestNerd,

It's not the number of links but the quality of them. While each link does provide a "vote" for your website for a particular keyword, a Wikipedia link might have about a 10x increase over a unrelated blog post link.

The trick is to get relevant links to your website so that Google can clearly classify your site. Sites are/can be penalized if the spam can be traced back to your site. Especially if your a new domain you run the risk of hitting the sandbox if your link building looks unnatural.

Like the previous poster mentioned it really is all about link diversity. Instead of getting 35,000 spammy links focusing on getting 100 quality backlinks with your anchor text as the keyword linking back to your website.

I guarantee you that more relevant links to your site are much more valued than spammy crappy links.

As mentioned before your links are not going to get indexed on the same day so no worries.

It's a combination of quality, and quantity. I have seen 1 link from a quality site, out rank over a 100 from other various sources. I watched a test....add a link, move to #1, remove that link, slide to #2, whereas the person holding strong at #2 had ONE solid link from DMOZ with their keywords in anchortext within DMOZ.

Some will say that this will not hurt you. Some say it will hurt you.

I like to be on the safe side and do things a lot slower.

Slow and steady wins the race in my opinion. I would do all linking by hand and take your time.

Besides who wants to be labeled as a spammer.

Spamming might give you a quick boost, but eventually it can catch up to you and decrease your ranking stability for the long term.

Good SEO is a permanent and slow process, requiring concentration and post-analysis. Why one would need such a neckcracking backlinking in one day. All the jump-style activities are not bringing good/stable results in most of the cases.

Koolestnerd, instead of spending a time on posting thousands of backlinks a day, I would suggest you sit and identify the diversity of sources for quality link building and implement them later (that would be very useful time-spending). There are a lot of such sources.

Diversity of quality links, not the amount of them is the most important in SEO-linking nowadays.

PS. As an ultimate goal: find a backlinking method that noone used so far - it will bring the most striking impact ;-)

It depends. There are times where a company like NBC will throw up a site just for a TV promo they are running. In that case, they are going to get a lot of links very quickly. Google, Bing, etc. understands the difference between mentions on social media and blog posts vs. 3,500 comment links (just an example). Realize that A LOT goes into this. Link acquisition, churn, anchor text, surrounding text, placement on site, and MANY more variables are calculated on the fly.. This most definitely isn't a "one size fits all" answer.
