Creating useful articles that people will want to replublish is a go way to get backlinks. It is not the number you create but how many people republish them that matters.

Create a blog and publish useful/meaningful content. Most blog software like wordpress will ping the blog search engines each time you post. If your topic is good, you will get traffic from technorati.com and other.

If you use wordpress, you can get plugin to make it easy for visitors to share you page with friends on social media sites like facebook or twitter.
You can get plugins to automatically update your own facebook status or twitter. This will get you both good seo and traffic from social media.

Using this approach, you can concentrate on content creation and will not be spamming. Each post you make becomes another page(s) that can be ranked and indexed. If someone likes your page and submits it to twitter or other social media sites, you can get a lot of traffic and followers.

Pretty much you can go "balls to the wall". As long as you are not using software to do it anything that you have the time to manually do it will not be too much to hurt or get your site penalized.

Do article marketing daily.
1 article can be submitted for 50 article directories or more without penalty. (If your targeting backlinks only) but with your post i suppose your targeting backlinks not your articles published by publishers.

I don't know about angela links cause I heard lot's about them "search" button is available for that.

20 blog commenting daily will look spam to BLOGMASTERS. If you'll do a blog comment you must first participate in the blog even before you can post your link there or mabe give them a 300-700 word article that is of high value to get "1blog juice" I suggest do 3-5 blogging daily(that's for me) or maybe search the forums one by one for your questions. that will be of great help

Thanks for all your comments!! Actually I am trying to rank my site with a specific keyword and there are so many useful information out there just make me a little bit confuse! That's why I have chosen to stick with 3 methods - blog comments, profile setup and article marketing - to start with!

It seems article marketing is one of the great way to start with, I think I will scale down the blog commenting and profile setup as both take me quite a long time to do so! 1 article a day is doable and will look into the plugin that John's mention!

I will get start with my work and will definitely share my results with all of you later!

Of these, I would concentrate on article marketing. The links you get there are of higher quality than blogs or forum profiles in that blogs make you use your name as the link, profiles make you use your URL as the link, but article directories let you use relevant keywords. Relevancy is KING. Everybody think PR is most important, but do you want reputation or TRAFFIC?

just make sure you start out slow, then you can increase the number of backlinks you build as time goes on. It will look more "natural". Later, try to mix in some other methods of link building as well. And regarding article marketing, you can also submit your articles to WEB.2.0 sites like Squidoo, SCRIBD, HubPages etc for more content and backlinks.

Always make sure your articles are good readable quality stuff.

Once you can afford outsourcing or buy some automation tools I would suggest you do so to be order to use leverage to grow your business.

Also, submit rss feeds to rss directories and ping your blog or website when needed using ping.fm or a similar tool.
