Google Rankings Always Going Up?

Hey there Warriors.Have a little question for you.

Is there a chance if my website is ranked under a certain keyword in the first page of Google, result No 3,sometime in the future to see this go down the ranking?

I mean results for certain keywords always go up?

Maybe a stupid question but i feel so happy now that one of my site is ranked in page 1,result No 3 and i am afraid losing this

Thanks

Dimitris

Ranking is a zero sum game. For a page to rise in the ranking, another page has to fall. If you stop marketing that page your rankings will fall over time. The more competitive the phrase, the more likely you are likely to lose position over time with no activity in your marketing efforts.

Ranking can always go up and down.
That depends on your SEO and your competitors SEO.
SO your rank will not just get up it can also get down.
Otherwise peoples would have just SEO'ed their site once and then made a multi
million profit just by resting in their bed.

If you want to maintain your rankings firstly don't tamper with the content and other optimization elements of your high ranking page. That will cause an immediate drop because google will try to re-figure where to put you. Instead keep the rest of your site active and growing, especially good content! Also periodically keep adding backlinks. Cheers!

Just keep doing what your doing, if you got to #3 (depending on how competitive your keyword is) you should be able to move higher with more work!

It's not a stupid question. I have a site ranking #4 for a highly competitive word. It has had the bare minimum of SEO work for 4 months and has held. It will require an injection of work to either maintain, or move up that position. If I do the minimum, I know I will eventually drop.

To tell you truth i haven't done much SEO to reach spot No 3.I had 5 articles there, paid someone to build some back links, added a week ago 2 new SEO optimized articles and pinged the site. Thanks for the great info!Appreciate this!

Depending what you do to your site. If nothing, most probably drop in the future and go up if you keep building backlink
