Try changing up your ads. If you're using text and image ads, try using just text or just image ads. Try repositioning your ads on your pages. The left side of the page, just below the header is one of the first places a visitor will look when your web page loads. I've also been told that putting ads at the end of your text can help increase your clicks.

Your site (the one you've linked to 4 times in your signature) violates the Google AdSense rules, and might/will get your account banned if Google ever do a manual review.

Fix that before fixing anything else.

What he is talking about is that you musn't mislead your visitors to the ads. You have a headline in your sidebar that says: "Useful Links" and below that you put an adsense unit. That isn't allowed because ads aren't useful links!

Fix it as soon as possible to avoid your account gets banned!

It depends a lot on the niche and traffic. Some sites will get a very high CTR with little effort, while others will get virtually no clicks no matter what you do.

With that being said, the only thing you can do is split test to find out what works. Setting up separate channels for each of your ads makes this easy.

The only ad blocks that work really well are the 300x250 and 336x280 sizes. Everything else looks like an ad or is too small to get noticed. Your layout is perfect for these bigger ad blocks, so use them.

Put the ad under the post title and only use one ad block per page. You can experiment with floating the ad block to the left or right, but for starters just leave it right under the post title.

Use text-only ads for higher CTR and use #0000FF for the link color. Make the text and URL colors gray. You want to draw attention to the text links and not the rest of the ad. In some cases this may not work well, so you'll need to blend the ad with the content by using similar colors as your site text and link colors. Never use borders on the ads, so make the the border color the same as the background color.

Ads in the right sidebar tend to get ignored, so remove them.
