SEO is causing me a fecking headache
The latest problems is links not appearing in google

I have a new site up
I have gotten various links to it including from .gov and .edu but they are not showing

According to Yahoo I have 292 links
but in my webmaster tools account it reads "No data"

Why not
What have I do to get links that google likes
#backlinks #google #showing

For some reason, Google will not show all of your indexed backlinks and hasn't for years, even ones they know about.

That's right the big G is shy about showing that info. Probably for good reason. Even Yahoo will change their opinion of how many back links you may have from login to login!

So I would carry on doing what your doing and watch your positioning as the barometer guide.

      Thanks

If you have a new site, you should just wait for the results. And please note that if you get more backlinks for your site, you will get sanbox.

There isn't anything wrong with building good quality steady links on a daily basis. Just don't throw thousands of low quality links at it all at once. It's a waste of time.

Building links steadily and dripping in content has always worked for me so far.

You do not have to really worry about it...Google will find it for sure, even if it is late in showing those.I would suggest maintain a good rate of gaining backlinks, do not speed up inorganically, wait and have patience..you will start seeing backlinks.

Just keep building links and don't bother checking those tools. For one, most of them will never show anyway, even when they are indexed. The best reason to check those tools for backlinks is to see which one's your competitors have and try to get the same ones. To check if what you are doing is working, check your traffic and your position in the SERPs.

Its a waiting game my friend. Take time to build quality links and do not worry about when they show up in google. A website is for life and not just for christmas.

    Best regards

Of course...it is also an easy way to tie your sites together (along with Analytics and Adsense), so depending on one's sites, goals, and strategies, using Webmaster tools might not be a good idea. Personally, I have Webmaster tools hooked up to less than 1 percent of my sites.

    (1) Don't worry about what links Google tells you your site has. Google has no reason to give complete data on the subject. Why would the encourage more link spamming?

    (2) just because a link doesn't show up in Google, doesn't mean google "doesn't like" the link.

As much I know about this, then Google shows just those backlinks which it consider valuable. So if you have links from pages with low PR then Google will not show them, but I also think that you should not worry about it! You can see your backlinks using Yahoo tools and, of course, there are other online tools to check your backlinks!

ComputerGirl .. not sure where you heard about low pr links not being important to google or google refusing to "show' low pr links - but I can assure you theres a mountain of evidence to the contrary.

What google knows about your links profile - is what their bot finds and their algo puts into their index [ database ] ... if its NOT found by their bot - it cant get in the index.

Caveat: I doubt highly google would manually enter you profile backlinks for ya :-)

the trick is to energize these links so that the bot has no choice but to find them ... and do it in such a way that google indexes these ZERO PR pages ... and hence - you greatly increase the odds that google is giving credit for the LINKS. [ no one knows for sure what they count and dont count ] ... but im rather confident that a database application no matter how smart it is, cannot count a piece of data thats not in its database.

There is no reason why Google would want to give away a site's true backlink picture. It's like waiving a red towel in front of a bull. Don't pay any attention to backlink numbers that Google tells you.

I would agree with jazbo, nigel and others when they say to just keep building links and don't worry about what the various backlink checkers say.

You're on to something good with using Fiverr to build backlinks. I have had a lot of success with getting sites ranked for local keywords with just 2 or 3 fiverr link building gigs.

There is a wide range of quality in these link building gigs, so try a bunch of different fiverr providers until you find some good ones.

I get the - low ROI on index checking and indexation ... but when 80% of your efforts yield ZERO results .. whos interest is it in to tell you to not worry about unindexed links - just buy/build more?

drum roll ... the dudes selling you "more" links of course - hey and Im one of them too so ....

Doing anything with a 80% failure rate just kinda seems a bit odd to me - and paying for it ta boot.

yeah, Google is only showing a fraction of what it's aware of for backlinks and also indexed pages. if it would be different anybody would have submitted their site to the exactly same bulk list of links and obtain the high PR ... not possible at all ;-)
