My One Week InfoBarrel Challenge - Check It Out

I don't know how many people are familiar with InfoBarrel, but with EzineArticles losing some of its steam, I went to look for some alternatives (besides other article directories like Buzzle, ArticlesBase, etc) and found InfoBarrel. They do a 75% revenue share of all Adsense AND allow 2 self serving links in the article AND in the signature box. So, I decided to test this out.

I wrote a post on my blog and plan to follow up in a week on there to share my progress and weigh in on whether or not InfoBarrel is worth it. You can see it here: MoneyWithArticles.com | A Journal of My Quest to Quit My Day Job.

Anyway, I'm writing 30 to 40 articles this week at InfoBarrel. The downfall to InfoBarrel is that while all articles need to be unique and not previously published (for instance, on your own website), you also cannot distribute the article AFTER it's published on their site (meaning no taking copies of the article and submitting to other article directories for backlinks, which is big drawback).

So, I'm testing the waters to see if it's worth it. There are a few people earning a decent amount of passive income from InfoBarrel in Adsense alone. If I start to see a steady stream of Adsense earnings AND some traffic to my websites, I'm going to kick things into high gear and start submitting to InfoBarrel on a regular basis.

I know one week really doesn't seem like enough time to gauge whether or not I should continue to submit to InfoBarrel, by hitting them with 30 to 40 articles with my researched keyword phrases that have low competition, I should start to see some traffic and minimal Adsense earnings.

It's worth a shot, right? I mean, think about how much money EzineArticles makes daily on Adsense alone. If InfoBarrel grows to be on the level that EzineArticles is already at, it could be a HUGE moneymaker just with residual Adsense earnings alone, not to mention if it brings targeted traffic to your websites, which is an added bonus.

I'll let you guys know what happens next Monday!

I take it not that many of you are familiar with InfoBarrel? If you're not, I'd jump in. Looks very promising and if this site really takes off, those who are in early will probably reap the rewards the most. The more I write for these guys, the more I get excited about the possibilities.

Hey Bryan, I signed up for InfoBarrel a few weeks back and haven't had a chance to write anything yet. I'm hoping to change that during my two-weeks off. I do write for other sites like HubPages and have just began to use that for backlinks to my new blogs, as well as a revenue sharing source. The worst part of trying to quit the day job (me too) is finding the time to produce what's needed. My overall theory is that "quantity counts" so the more articles, whether they are for my own sites or contents sites. Oh, and all wrapped around good keyword research and SEO.

    Good luck to you.

I've seen other marketers use Infobarrel but never gave it a shot myself. Looking forward to see your results!

I get a few clicks here and there from them... However their view rate does not compare to those on ezine which are much higher.

That's because the site is still in its infancy. Also, once you lock in a topic there, it's yours. No one can ever have that topic. Remember the early days of Squidoo and Hubpages when you locked in a killer, high volume keyword? Then, they went on to blow up and your one killer keyword lens or hub rode all the way to the top. If you ask me, doing the same on InfoBarrel is well worth the gamble, as they have stats that prove they will become a powerhouse over time.

Some of these topics I've locked in are incredible. Write the article now and reap the massive benefits later So, while everyone is waiting until this blows, people like me are banking on killer keywords while the site is still young.

You don't have to make InfoBarrel your sole focus - just get a couple killer keywords (even those with decent competition that you already see sites like Ezine, Squidoo, Hubpages, eHow and other article directories and web 2.0 sites ranking on the 1st page of Google) and write your articles, do some backlinking and let em hang out. Not only will you get passive income from Adsense over time, but you also get traffic from your signature box, too. It's a win-win, and well worth the minimal time investment.
