Hey

With Christmas not far away I want to run a few tests, and one of them is on a Web 2.0 site, but I am wondering if anyone can recommend the best Web 2.0 platform for affiliate marketing and responds fastest to link building? AND still converts well.

Thanks

With my experience, I have a list of web 2.0 rank fast.

No.1 Hubpages.com: but they are strict and do not allow over promotion, two links from one domain limited.
No.2 Xomba.com: the links is nofollow, but the articles rank very fast as post on articlebase.com
No.3 Squidoo.com: many internet marketers use it, Google do not love too much, but it rank well also.

Hope you can find one site suitable with your campaign.

I never realized there was a limit to the number of links you can use in a HubPage.

Is this a total amount allowed? I would like to have 4 if possible.

One to my money site, one to a related article (another moneysite), one to another spoke in my link wheel and a final one for a "Buy Now" link.

All of these links have different URLs.

Am I in violation doing it this way?

If so, may I include two links to two different websites?

Sorry if I'm being dense ... couldn't find my answer on the HubPages site and I'm new to using HP.

      Thank you,

Yes, the rule is no more than two links to the same domain. You can of course have more links in your hub - just not to the same domain.

Each site mentioned has their own positives and deficiencies that are inherent to their business models. By virtue of simply having been around longer, HubPages or Squidoo may be your best bet. Personally, I feel that Xomba has some serious branding issues that could impede their growth (how universally appealling is a site that co-brands itself with a purple alien anyway). Because of this, Xomba may be best used to gain backlinks.....on top of that, I was never a huge fan of how they bombard users with that garbage advert immediately upon visiting.

Do be cautious, with HubPages, because if your hub/author score falls below 75, all your do-follow links will automatically revert to no-follow links.

Fortunately your score is easy to keep up once you've got it up. Just keep writing good articles and occasionally go comment on/vote up a bunch of hubs.

Since you're interested in Christmas and consumers I would recommend HubPages or Squidoo. They both have great tools to put your affiliate link in to help sell some products.

I've noticed Hubpages in a lot more results lately so I know it ranks better.

  • Depends on how good you are at leveraging what they offer. I find that my HubPages content is indexed very quickly.

But ranking depends more on you than the Site.

I have a method that I use, which could help you. Create a Google alert for your selected keyword. You will get an email everyday with new entries on page 1 of google for your keyword. Everyday, check for new 2.0 and article sites, those are the sites you should use
