Ranking for subpages

Hey there,

After my website got kicked by google's corrected search numbers (they dropped from 9.9k to 600 for my keyword) I am trying to rank my subpage.
It got indexed really fast and I started to build backlinks. So far there are 18 normal +2 .edu backlinks recognized. But it don't even pop up in the top 100 for my keyword. I did the on page SEO properly but I don't know why it doesn't rank ... anyone have the same issue? Or a tip what to improve?

Looking for your thoughts.

    18+ backlinks, are they picked up by Google or by Yahoo?

    Did you do competitor research to see how many backlinks do you need to rank for?
    I also had the same situation where I have to wait for one week to seep my rank started to pop up to 100th position, so just continue to build quality links and you'll notice right away

      hi..
      i think you have to do submition of your site to directories, smo, article and all.. more u get backlinks high the rank of your keyword..

    working on sub-domain is not a good idea, google consider subdomain as a different domain

    well I know that google ranks pages not sites. So every new page besides my main page will have no backlinks etc. but the exact match domain for this keyword wasn't available anymore and it is hihgly related to my main keyword so I thought it would be nice to put it into my current website. I try to build up a little authority page ....
