Blog Commenting: Finding Blogs With Followable Links

Hello Warriors -

I have yet to find one blog who's comments have followable links.

So then I did a test on my own Wordpress blog, and the link I left in a comment is also highlighted as no follow *using the Search Status tool):

DonnaAbreu.com Try This Simple Strategy For Making Daily Progress

It seems to be a default setting (that links in comments are "no follow"), because I didn't set any attributes to make my comments "no follow".

Has anyone had much success with blog commenting for SEO purposes? how do you find those blogs?

I plan to add great content in my blog posts, as not to come across as spamming.

thanks,
Donna

Search Google for free advertising blogs.

These are blogs where you can sign up and post on topics of your choosing.(whatever your niche is). They all have regulations of course, but most just dont wasnt to get spammed and dont allow adult content. Some have goood PageRank also.

    Unique Article Database
    3 Step Free Ads
    Writers Blocked Unblocked

there are three I can think of off my head, just search for them and you have three.

    Hope this helps

You can try DoFollow Diver - The Premier DoFollow Blogs Search Engine

It's a search tool that allows you to search for blogs in your topic with 'do follow' links.

It is my tool so I hope I'm not breaking any rules here by posting it, just trying to save you some time. It's free.

    Sincerely,

    Lisa

    hi -

    thanks for the comments.

re: the Do Follow Diver website, I have tried this and the blogs I found are no follow! am I doing something wrong? Have you actually found blogs with follow?

I went to the website, typed in "diet and fitness" and found this blog on the first page. Then I opened a comment and it's links were no follow. Here is the ex:

The Cotton Clothing Blues | Healthy Living

    any ideas??

    thanks!

Donna -- Sometimes people enter their sites as do follow and then change them to no follow later on.

There is a form on the dofollow diver site that allows users to mark the blogs that are actually nofollow. I go through and update the tool monthly. And I took that site you mentioned off just now.

It's a lot easier for you than searching for do follow blogs using Google, but like anything, it's not going to be perfect as the owners of the blogs can change things whenever they want. ...

Thanks! That's great info. I will keep looking.

Do you know HOW to change the setting on your own blog? I have a wordpress blog. I cannot find that setting. I will search myself or the answer, but in case you know by chance...

I get tons of spam comments on my blog, and my blog IS a No follow (by default). They must post anyways. I just don't approve them.

Donna, you need to install one of the dofollow plugins for wordpress.

That blog you mentioned is NoFollow until you have a certain amount of comments. If you look closely, you'll see some links that are not NoFollow. The person that I noticed had 171 comments, although you usually have to just have about 5- 10 approved comments before the link changes.

I have been looking for dofollow blogs. The blog on my site is a dofollow blog but please do not spam it. I will only approve relevant comments as long as it isn't all advertising links it will be fine.

If you type 100 do follow site links into Google then the sites that come up offer the kind of list that you are after albeit it won't be specific to your niche.

While there are special search engines and software that find dofollow blogs. I think in general its too short-term a solution. As in, you can search for the keyword and blog, leave your comments. And that's it.

The next time you perform a similar keyword search, it would find back the same old blogs with new ones. But it'd be time consuming to filter them through.

What I prefer is using google alerts. Insert your keywords in google alerts, select them to notify you just for "Blogs" and not "comprehensive". And they would update you with fresh blogs everyday containing those keywords. The good thing is the freshness and steady stream of blogs that you can leave comments on.

While majority are nofollow, i find a combination of nofollow and dofollow links is better as it looks more natural to google. And not like some manipulation.

Based on testing, I found daily blog commenting (outsource it at DP or get a VA to do it) a useful extra tool in helping organic rankings.

I use Fast Blog Finder to search for do follow Blogs. It's the best software I've used to date for Blog commenting and getting links in return. Not perfect but it works...

There is a program I use called Fast Blog Finder. It finds you a load of blogs using specifi keyword phrases. It tells you which ones are nofollow and which ones are dofollow. It also tells you the PR of teh blog itself and the PR pf the page where you can comment on... AND the amount of outgoing links that are already on that page.

I have the gold version, but you can download and use the free version which brings back 50 blogs at a time. The gold version brings back all the results it can find.

    Hope that helps.

    Andy

I had tough luck with blog commenting because you never know when the blog owner will withdraw the do follow code and you will loose good amount of backlinks with your labour.

Even if they make their links NoFollow, you will still get the benefit of the links in some way. Maybe not PR, but they help anyway. Yahoo and MSN don't care about PR.

Try this string in google search:

YOUR KEYWORD "Remember my personal information" "Notify me of follow-up comments"

There is a lot of software for searching dofollow blogs too like comment kahuna, fastblogfinder etc... Personally I've tried some of them and I think fastblogfinder is the best. There is free and paid(Gold) version for fastblogfinder, I've upgraded it to gold version few months ago and I'm impressed with the results
