Multiple palletes

I've never see multiple palettes on adsense discussed here before.
I know I had some set up for using multiple palettes a long time ago,
but canned it quick.
I believe it fell flat, as it was across all ad blocks on a site.
I was thinking of experimenting again, and realized that I need different
palettes for each block, if I put all 3. It would look funny having 2 of the
ads show the same. This way, all 3 would be different at all times.
Anyone else use multiple palettes, and how'd it work out?
What is a reason for using multiple palettes? Seems to me it might be
something to do if one were using only one ad block per page.
