Socialbookmarking is not about bookmarking your money sites anymore..it's about bookmarking those sites that link to either your money sites, or, links that need to be indexed...

Social Bookmarking is still effective today, you have to bookmarking those sites that have relevancy in your money sites and necessarily to be indexed by search engines, but for me i think it will takes time to see the results.

You can create bookmark wheels by the way today simply by bookmarking the bookmarks also, for example, mixx a digg bookmark and so on. And of course bookmark your articles, lenses, hubs and other web 2.0 properties if you can.

for me they are very usefull, stumbleupon gives me a lot of traffic. twitter is only effective if you have a lots of followers.

I use mixx, reddit, mister wong, delicious...and a couple others that I can't recall the name. When you get a good rhythm going, with cross promoting and cross bookmaring profiles...it has helped my efforts in the past.

Social bookmarking still have a great importance. New pages can be cached easily through bookmarking. Stumbleupon and digg are on top, but some other bookmarking sites are also very effective

Building up followers and fans via social marketing is still very important. Facebook and Twitter still seem to be on top but other social networking site like stumble Upon and Reddit are still attractive.

I still get traffic from social bookmarking sites, but it usually only last for a day or two. We almost need a group of warriors to all digg and stumble each others articles. Ya know work together to get our sites up higher in the ranks for more long term traffic.

I can see the trend of social bookmarking sites going to NO follow.

Jumptags, Digg, Mister Wong and many others used to be do follow now all no-follow.

Which ones remain from the PR5+ ones ?

I use Folkd, Stumbleupon, Oyax and Reddit... Any others worth mentioning ?

These days you don't try to sell directly, aim to earn the trust of your reader, provide useful information and it also pays not to be self centered and only bookmark items relevant to your niche. Diversify for information and it is best to use opt in page to capture subscribers.

I want to talk to you about one part of marketing on the Internet that I absolutely hate: social bookmarking. You hear all over that you need to do it to help your pages rank better and to drive more traffic to your site. It's true. But there's a problem:

Its important for an overall link strategy to include bookmarks, on their own they are of limited use but combined with articles, blog posts, profiles etc. they are effective

Guys, if you ever get hung up on do follow and no follow - DON'T!
In terms of backlinking, yea sure, PR for trust passing is great and all, but it's not the end all, be all of backlinking. No Follow links are still good to get as well. Don't get hung up on paralysis of analysis.
