Stupefied About EzineArticles Quality

I am currently creating backlinks for my site both by automated services and manual article submissions to ezine and other directories. I put a lot of time and effort into the quality of my articles and sometimes get my articles slapped, typically by ezine, for really small things. I really wanted to find out what other top article writers wrote (and the quality of their writing as well) so I checked out the top 25 or so writers on ezine.

It pretty much stupefied me to see a handful of authors with super vague articles written just over the minimum of 250 words with great titles but vague and near crap body content. These men/women have 1000+ articles but the quality of their content is like an 8th grader writing. I get one of my articles slapped because I accidently put three hints about blah blah when my title says four. I failed to fulfill the promise of my article title yes, that is my fault, but I think the quality of writing these guys are doing is bull****. And worse these articles are on internet marketing. It seems they just spit out the vaguest idea about how to make money online and there ya go, a quality article.

This just really- honest to writing integrity- pissed me off. I will grant that there are equally as many great writers in the top of ezine as the low grade that I noticed, but most of these folks are not in the internet marketing niche. It makes me feel like an idiot for putting so much effort into my own articles that are barely getting any views. Intensely frustrating to say the least, but I am not one to give up. It really just makes me think that ezine is just happy to receive the bare minimum of what they require.

I can understand your frustration. I too, put a lot of effore into my articles to ensure they are quality.
And I read some that, for the life of me, I can't understand. But do keep going, keep the quality high. It'll pay off in the end.

All i Want from ezine is a Quality backlink pointiong to my site.

All Ezine wants from me is a article with a minimum of 250 words on almost anything i want to wright about..

I woul dput my writing skills to the test on my own website and not some silly article on ezine. once again, all you are really after is a good backlink.. Well for me atleast..

Its not like there's extra work to it.

    Hi heavysm,

I think you should look at the situation from a slightly different perspective. You are comparing and judging your articles based mostly on issues of style and communication skills. The Ezinearticle folks are not looking at style or skill level, instead they are concerned with issues of honesty, integrity and specific violations of TOS.

I just made a comment like this on another thread about how thin EZA
articles are. My suggestion has always been to submit a thread-bare
article to EZA and DON'T tell them what your real keywords are. Then,
publish a much better article on your own site. By "much better," I
am referring to giving the reader a little more satisfaction with the content.

Well, that's not really my advice. My advice is to forget EZA and concentrate
on your own authority and links. I gave it up after I got the over-sized coffee
mug. I realized my articles were too well written to be wasted...

I understand all of that and I can see people just using ezine as merely a means to an end. As long as I have a backlink thats all that matters, right? It makes me feel like little if any thought goes into writing now *shrugs shoulders*

Ezine articles can still attract direct traffic for you. If you have a stats counter that tells you where you traffic is coming from you will see if people are coming from ezine.

Yes I will agree that when I have read some of them , it looks like they were written by a fourth grader but the article is achieving for the writer what they wanted it to do

Getting A backlinks IS all that matters!

I remember like 5 years ago when i would search for something and read an article, i used to ask myself. "Why do people create content and spend all that time writing articles, what do they get out of it?" And the answer to that (which i found out after discovering SEO and IM) is to get a backlink to there own website. Its almost like trading.. you scratch my back, and i will scratch yours. (you give ezine content for there adds, and they will give you a strong backlink) Thats all that matters.

If you love writing and you are good at it. Work for someone so that you are rewarded properly. But for SEO Efforts, a single backlink is NOT worth the amount of effort it takes to make a HIGH quality article that takes 1 hour to create.

Once you realise this, you could turn 1 good article into 10 articles that will get approved, and intern 10 backlinks instead of 1. Quality content is KING, but not on Ezine

EZA has really gotten bad lately. There was even a post on here not too long ago about how EZA editors were approving something like 300 articles a day. There's no way you can proofread that much in a day and actually take time to look for any quality.

However, EZA isn't the only place that's full of junk. In fact, a good portion of the content online is not particularly good. To me, though, it's of no consequence. I focus on publishing the best content possible (whether it's on my own site or an article directory), and ignore what everyone else is doing. Remember, you never know who's going to stumble upon one of your articles, so you owe them your best effort. The biggest thing that sets you apart from your competitors is the quality of your content.

But, you can always think of it this way - if the rest of the content is junk, you're stuff is going to stand out even more

The most important thing is to make money and with it time consideration come into play. Why spend hours and hours writing the perfect article when something of average standard will do and get the same result? You can spend that extra time building on other things needed for your business.

At the end of the day it is no point being naive. Ezine Articles is a business, they gererate over $70,000 a week in advertising revenue. Why do you want to contribute to their success with little in return. Yes your quality article might get picked up, published elsewhere and with backlinks, viral marketing, etc but that is not always going to happen. You are better of putting the best content on your site and not someone elses' cash cow. As long as you meet the guidelines set by Ezine Articles, all is well.
