Pardon this newbie question, but if I purchase several domains based on certain keywords I would like to target and then do an automatic redirect of those domains to my main product page domain, will this improve my SEO?

Technically, any pagerank or anchor text will be passed as a result of the redirect. Easier said than done sometimes.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

So....if they are brand new domains or old ones that have been de-indexed,
      no PR.

And a very lousy way to "improve my SEO."

Yes they are brand new domains, but the domain name contains the keywords I want to target. I just want to confirm that any "SEO value" from the new domains will be passed to my main domain.
