Could anyone have a look at this simple keyword and tll me how difficult they think it is to hit #1

Hi guys,

I have a keyword for a bodybuilding supplement in mind but i keep looking at this shorter more searches a month keyword and cannot decide which to build the site around.

The keyword with more searches is simply `weight gainer` the other keyword i know i can rank for but this keyword `weight gainer` has twice the searches so i`m willing to put twice the work into it but i cannot make my mind up just how difficult it will be.

I need to get better at this part of keyword research so if someone could have a look at the keyword `weight gainer` and give me their thoughts id be very grateful

    hey.

    you did a good KW research because the keyword is quite cool. 14k exact searches and >1$ CPC.
    Now I checked the competition and I think if you got the exact match domain for it you should give it a try. The competition is not that strong. Some high PR websites but with almost <150 backlinks to the page. and only 1-2 of the pages in the top10 are optimized for this keyword. So do your on page SEO properly and provide high quality unique targeted content. Then you have to build backlinks. I recommend articles and maybe you should seek for some high PR backlinks and you can easily outranke the competition. But it would be a long distance project.
    This is just what I think.

    Just a word of caution about sharing your keywords jimkirk1943. Someone could read your post, like your keyword and use it themselves. Most never would... but it only takes one person.

      yea that is what I missed to add. I know that you want to get the infos of other warriors but you should remove it or at least let the people ask you for the KW and you can send it via pm because u need not to be a user of this forum to read this thread so someone can just grab it.

    Its definitely doable and you could get a top 4 position with little work. Do you have the keyword domain?

      No i dont i wish i did though i already know that REALLY helps, You guys still think its doable without exact domain ?

        first of all it is always doable but with an exact domain it's easier. Now without the exact domain it depends on how much the domain is related to that topi. if your domain is something like: www()thisismyownblog()com than is is really hard. You should just try it. You won't lose much if it doesn't work. you always learn but I think you should reach your goal.

    It would be doable and with enough links I think you could get there, there's a few video sites there and usually they aren't too hard to get close to and with the amount of links that those ones have it shouldn't be that difficult.
