Hello Warriors,

I would like to know what are the onpage and offpage factors I should do when I got a new site.

It will be beneficial if you explain about offpage in detail.

On page - Focus on Title, meta tags, alt images and meta description, create a sitemap page

Off page - Write ezine articles, rewrite those articles and submit them to other top article directories..

Whatever you do, get your time priorities right.

Onpage = 15% of the ranking factors.
Offpage = 60% of the ranking factors.

Don't do what a lot of people do which is to agonise over nonsense like keyword density for weeks.

oh,,,is it really? If we only have one person for this work,,I think making good adjustion onpage is more important than the offpages,, after all, one people could not add too much links by hand, right?

        On-Page Optimization Factors-
Include your keyword in your Domain Name
Use different Title Tags for all pages
Description tag is the most important paragraph on any page
Last but not least, match the anchor text to the url it's pointing to.

        Off-Page Optimization Factors-
Site relevancy of the inbound links is factor which puts more weightage on your backlinks.
Links from social bookmarking sites are considered to be a good sign.
Dofollow links are considered the best for SEO as it passes link juice. The link with "nofollow" attribute is not considered good for SEO as it does not pass the link juice.

This is just 9 of 35 Most Important Factors

    2. Keyword use in document title
The document title is the text within the <title>...</title> tags in the HTML code of your web page. This chapter tries to
find out how to use the search term "Weightloss Tips" in the document title and if it's important for Google.com.

    3. Global link popularity of web site
The global link popularity measures how many web pages link to your site. The number of web pages linking to your site
is not as important as the quality of the web pages that link to your site.

    4. Link texts of inbound links
This chapter lists a sample of the web pages that link to your site, along with the link text. Note that search engines do
not reveal all inbound links to your site.

You Also Get "Advice for the link texts of inbound links"

    5. Keyword use in body text standards
The body text is the text on your web page that can be seen by people in their web browsers. It does not include HTML
commands, comments, etc. The more visible text there is on a web page, the more a search engine can index. The
calculations include spaces and punctuation marks.

    6. Age of web site
Spam sites often come and go quickly. For this reason, search engines tend to trust a web site that has been around for
a long time over one that is brand new.

    7. Keyword use in H1 headline texts
H1 headline texts are the texts that are written between the <h1>...</h1> tags in the HTML code of a web page. Some
search engines give extra relevance to search terms that appear in the headline texts. This chapter examines if this
    applies to Google.com, too.

    8. Keyword use in domain name body text
The domain name is the main part of the web page address. This chapter tries to find out if Google.com gives extra
relevance to search terms within the domain name.

    9. Keyword use in page URL
The page URL is the part after the domain name in the web page address. This chapter tries to find out if Google.com
gives extra relevance to search terms within the page URL. Separate your search terms in the page URL with slashes,
    dashes or underscores.

    10. Links from social networks
On social network sites, people decide which web sites are popular. This means that the popularity on social network
sites cannot be easily influenced. For this reason, search engines might trust web sites more if they are popular on
social networks. ("n/a" means "data not available".)

Here are 8 offsite SEO optimization tips guaranteed to drive traffic to your new site.

    1. Carry out link exchange with other sites.

    2. Carry out social bookmarking and tagging.

    3. Buy link text from other sites with a pagerank of 5 and above. You can also find this in auction sites such as ebay.

    4. Write articles based on specific keyword depending on your niche and carry out one way backlink to your sites.

    5. Write a press release and submit it to press release sites such as prweb.com for one way backlink.

    6. Provide valuable tips and replies in the niche forum your new site is based on and submit your forum signature with a backlink to your site. Also, use anchor text for the keyword and point it back to your site.

    7. Pay for linking from sites such as yahoo directory.

    8. Submit your rss feed to blogging directories and blogging search engines.

Here are the following tactics of on-page SEO :

    1. The Meta Keywords, Description and Robots tag — Google used description copy to market your site in its results, treat this as optimized sales copy. Make sure your sitemap.xml page is CONSTANTLY called up to the search engines

    2. The Title Tag – The MOST important aspect of on-page SEO, just take our word for it.

    3. The Body Text (focus on the body text in bold, for this denotes strong emphasis to the search engines)

    4. The first sentence in the body text and the first words used per sentence are the most important ones for advanced on-page SEO necessities (Make it humanly readable and SE readable — The words used in the first sentence are most important due to the implementation of Google’s LSI algorithm)

    5. The URL — The subdirectory folder and page of content should be SEO’d (i.e. http://domain.com/real-estate/real-e...ting-ideas.com would fetch a high ranking for a page dedicated to real estate marketing ideas – especially with many highly authoritative, relevant, deep in-bound links)

    6. The H1 and H2 Texts are highly important – Why? They show the search engine the main subjects and Table of Contents for the content to be indexed. Make these keyword friendly and reflective of your page’s title tag.

    7. Same Site Link Texts — The links connecting the pages of your site together must have your targeted keyword terms in them as well as all links throughout the site — even though it seems excessive, having variations to your targetted keywords would also help when linking out to other pages within your site.

    8. Same-Site Link URLs — Not only should you be using your keywords to describe pages within your site, those URLs you link to must have SEO URLs ( eg: http://domain.com/your-keyword.html)

WE see many people fail to focus ON the page before they build the inbound links.

Yes, the linkage is important and (depending on who you talk to) 60-80% of the equation...but we regularly beat out better linked sites by getting the page right first - especially on long-tail terms. It only takes a few minutes in most cases and it really puts the other stuff you do on steroids.

Be sure to use the right anchor text for the incoming links.

    Good luck.

If you are in a relatively uncompetitive area you can rank based on strong on-page alone.. the more competitive it becomes, the more on-page SEO matters. So you can't say the equation is X on page or X off..

All the detail is already posted here in the forum if you'll search around a while, but a lot of it only makes sense with experience. Just start a site and then work on it for 12 months. You'll have it down by then.

      Hi Samuel,

Here is a thread that I had started once upon a time hoping to make it a long one including many twists that I use for SEO - it might help you.

Please note that I could take it nowhere to the stage that I wanted to - it stopped at the starting point (infancy) rather than evolving - but still, it will give you an idea of what to look for and what not at a beginner's level. At least, looking at your question, seems like it will help you to a certain extent.

You must choose the best keywords for your site. Competitive keywords are very hard to rank high on SERP. I suggest to pick keywords with less competition but has a good volume of traffic. Then start writing quality content that best described your site, add your major keywords to your content. When building backlinks for your site make sure that the links are related to your site if you can find high PR and do follow much better.
