Page titles - a part of overall site keyword density?

Hi Warriors,

I'm currently working with my page titles - again :-) and is a bit unsure about how to optimize the site in the best way..

A little background knowledge:

We have especially two pages on our website that target our most important and competitive keywords.. Namely the frontpage and a product page..
However we have a lot of other pages, where the content circle more or less around the same keywords..

Should I chance the page titles so the main keywords only are used in the page titles on the front page and product page (that rank the best for these keywords) and re-write all other page titles to target other much less competitive (but still relevant) keywords?
In that way Google might not be as "confused" about, what pages in our website are most relevant for our main keywords.. Of course the goal is to improve our rankings on the front and product page..

OR

Should I continue to use the main keywords in different variations in the page titles all over the website and in that way really emphasize to Google, what keywords our entire site is about.. If the titles even are a part of the keyword density of the site??

Hope you can provide me with some guidance.. Thanks a lot in advance..
