I understand that the keyword must be in the title of the page. My question is my first page is my home page and the title is home. If I put my keyword in the title it shows up in my page bar as the keyword instead home. I hope this makes sense!

Your title tag is what you see in your browser at the top. If it said home and now says your keyword you should be fine.

Sounds like your all set. You want your keyword to show up in the title bar of your browser.

So the title is not the actual title of the post?

You have to put your keyword in the title tag, not the meta title tag. Like this:

    <TITLE>Keyword</TITLE>

This way, your title will appear at the top of the browser window, and also in the linked text when potential customers review results from a search.

If you use wordpress, u can have all in one SEO, it helps a lot, just write description properly... For main page meta text, title will be read by Seach Engine

There is a SEO forum here where the SEO discussions are supposed to be. I recommend you start using it or your posts may mysteriously disappear.

You can give any title with your keyword for your home page.
