Here are 5 proven ways on how best to improve your Adsense earnings.

1. Concentrating on one format of Adsense ad. The one format that worked well for the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This same format have the tendency to result in higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why choose this format out of the many you can use? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

2. Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site.

3. Remove the Adsense from the bottom pages of your site and put them at the top. Do not try to hide your Adsense. Put them in the place where people can see them quickly. You will be amazed how the difference between Adsense locations can make when you see your earnings.

4. Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.

5. Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the webpages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as "adsense text", and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

    Hi
I think you must focus on one AdSense ad format and the most used format is the Large Rectangle (336X280) which provides your website higher click-through rates (CTR). Not only this, it makes your ads look like common web links which people are used to click, making your website to be clicked then. Without their knowledge about Ad sense and what they are clicking which is your website, you are having a great advantage.

    Thanks

i'm pretty sure i have seen that article somewhere. And in a any case most of the suggestions are not good.

For example the "remove the ads from the bottom pages". This is the worst suggestion ever. The "bottom" ads catch all visitors that leave the website after reading the page.

This is bad advice unless you're referring to the footer.

The CTR may be lower, but The Adsense team has done studies and they found that a 336x280 or 300x250 ad block works well after the end of an article. The theory is that some people will read to the very end of an article and may click on an ad, thinking it will give them something else to read or more information.

I'd say just use one 336x280 ad block right under the post title (floating optional) and test out another one placed at the end of the article. See if that ad at the end of the article does better than an ad placed in a sidebar or the header.

Trial & error with various ad sizes & position would be great to determine which ads are giving us more money.

Just try not bulking your page with loads of ads, because it can lost your visitors concentration from your main content.

I never use Adsense before, but nice idea though, it is not a bad one after all. I might consider this in the future.

I'll second the bad advice about the bottom.

The bottom has increased mine dramatically.

I came across this tip from google, believe it or not.
At the bottom of an article, your reader thinks, gee, where to next?
      Give them a choice.

There's no way I would ever use one format for all 3. And I do all
      3, all the time.

Really, there's not much in these "tips." I have no idea why enticing
your visitors to leave on an unpaid link is going to increase adsense
      earnings.

You have to test, test, test.

Number of visitors depend on your work, I mean how you promote your site.

CTR can be 50% even 75% if you make your site with a strategy.
