I have been working on a site for over 2 years now. I have always been able to rank in the first 3 pages of google for more than 50% of a list of about 200 keywords.

I work with all the free techniques on the net. example article marketing, social bookmarking, web2.0 properties, video posting, free blogs, social networking etc.

I have been using these for all this while, but in the last 3 months these dont seem to be working anymore. My site is falling back.

Could someone please explain why and what should I do to tackle the problem?

Thanks a ton!!

If you don't do anything(off page work) for a while your keyword position must be decrease in serp. Seo work should be never stop even if you are in top place.

Jeff, thanks for you quick reply, but I continue to do the same every day. The only thing that has changed in the last 4 months is that earlier I use to work on the site Monday to Saturday, now its Monday to Friday. Does that have any effect?

Adding new content to your website will indicate to Google and users that the site is relevant, valuable and up-to-date.. A site that doesn't get any new content for a long time, can't be highly relevant in the eyes of Google..
        So keep consistently adding content!!

The other element is that there are new sites jostling for position all the time if you are in a competitive market.

This is why your SEO activities & content updates have to be an ongoing project.
