Google could not recognise my backlinks.

Does anyone know why google does not see all backlinks? This applies to other search engines like yahoo and bing. Google count all these links as one as they come from the same domain. But there is a difference between these search engines. For instance, i searched my site at yahoo and it returned almost 800 backlinks and also google which returned about 10 backlinks. Why could google not recognise these links and what are the criterias required for a site for Google to see these links? I need your suggestions please.

    Google always updating its system that's why there are backlinks that was not shown or recognize compared to yahoo its more lessen when it comes to visibility of backlinks.

    Yeah it may be that the sites that your links are on are seen as SPAM sites by google, and that Google may have actually de-indexed those pages...along with your links on them. You need to ensure that all the pages that have your links on, are in fact indexed in google..

    Im not sure why everyone seems to want their backlinks showing up with yahoo or google.

    In my experience it does,nt matter one bit if they dont show up, all that matters is that your page moves up the serps.

    I had some backlinks done last week on a page, it has gone from position 23 to position 6 but not one link shows up with google or yahoo. I have pages in position 1 and barely any backlinks showing even though they might have a couple hundred links built to them.

    Looking for backlinks showing up in yahoo or google is just an exercise in wasting time, google still sees them and ranks your pages on them whether they are shown or not.
