Facebook/Google Advertising - Conversion Tracking

I've recently installed Facebook and Google Ad Conversion Tracking to my website - I've installed both pieces of tracking code into the Master page of the website (it's an ASP website by the way).
What I want to track is if people went to the contact page from the landing page of the advert.
Have I correctly gone about doing this or should the tracking codes be on the contact page and not the master page?
