I just got a message from Facebook a short while ago removing my group. They just referred me to their terms of service. The group had over 700 members and I designed a course to teach people affiliate marketing to work as my affiliates.

The group was in existence for over 1 month and over 50 days, I only promoted to the members on 1 occasion about 2 weeks ago. Several times no more than 2 times per week, I posted the status on my wall

Several persons had been posting mostly spammy comments on the blog associated with the group and probably one of the spammers reported me to Facebook.

from FaceBook:
Hello
The group "Make Money Online-Everyone" has been removed because it violated our Terms of Use. Among other things, groups that are hateful, threatening, or obscene are not allowed. We also take down groups that attack an individual or group, or advertise a product or service. Continued misuse of Facebook's features could result in your account being disabled.

It could be that promotion you pulled or it could be the high amount of outgoing links associated to that page. Google has a warning and flag system, if you hit that system a moderator will look at your page and take action.

I think it's pretty clear it violated their terms of service, so why the confusion?

I'm fairly certain they don't want their groups filled up with Make Money Online stuff.

It’s also a possibility. Although Facebook is one of the ways to do marketing, doing that on their groups may be a problem since this niche is one of the causes of spamming. Maybe they just want to control any instance of promotion to keep others from doing the same thing.

Facebook will ban advertisers because they only want the revenues to themselves. It is clear that you violated their TOS. Other people "jealous" of what you are doing will surely report your page or group to the FB mods. Pity those poeple.
