Chances are you don't know what "duplicate content" means. It has nothing to do with articles that are posted on multiple sites. If you are seeing one article on several sites - that's called syndication and good if you are the author of the article.

If one site has content that is repeated on multiple pages - that is duplicate content.

If you want to know more about it - use the search function on this forum - there's about a million sabout it (well, maybe not quite that many).

To me, what you are talking about is syndication, not duplicate content.

        Let me explain the difference.

Syndication is a case where the same content appears across multiple sites. Google would rank one of them as the highest authority.

Duplicate content is the same (or very similar) content appearing repeatedly (more than once) on the same site. This does not involve more than one site inside the same picture.

"I beg to disagree" as the lawyers will say

Duplicate content can arise both on the same site as well as across multiple sites. In fact, syndication is one way by which duplicate content arises.

It is just that duplicate content is not necessarily viewed negatively by Google except when the duplicate content is premeditated with malicious/deceptive intent.

It might be other reasons that you probably ignored. Your backlinks might be less than that website!

I think duplicate content has it, since they have to update their own blog as an example they've only modify it and rephrase the corresponding statement.
