How I made $0.55 In 3 Weeks

Hello All,

Two days ago I received my first click from adsense. Needless to say this newbie is super excited

About 3 weeks ago I read a thread by xfactor regarding his 6 month followup post.

After reading the thread a took a little bit of action and slapped together 5 websites. Well 7 really, but the first two were complete failures. Anyways I have now received a total of 2 clicks, each from a different website. I am feeling so giddy right now over those 2 clicks, its pathetic I am aware. However, its the thought of making money from the sites for years to come that brings this huge grin to my face.

Thanks for reading

~Severin

Update: I am writing this update 2 days after my original post

First off I would like to thank everyone for their comments. Especially Deloriagod I started busting up after reading your post.

Here is the action I have taken:
Purchased 5 Domains with the exact keyword as the domain.
Example (kewordphrase.org)

Currently Adsense is saying that my ads are viewed 6-10 times per day

Each of my domains gets about 3k searches a month - double checked this google guess with spyfu.

Only 1 of my websites is on the first page of google. Its position 8 I think.

My backlinking has been articles at ezinearticles and goarticles
(I think I have about 15 articles up for each domain)

I assume my on page seo is fairly average, but as i'm a noob I think fairly average is a good start.

Also I am happy to report that I got another click yesterday that was worth $0.50. Which practically doubled my income

If anyone wants to see the websites they can pm me, but I wouldn't recommend it, as they are terrible.

As for the people recommending that I bail on Adsense and look for another way to monetize the websites I am trying to learn to get traffic to my websites. Once I get 100 visitors or so a day then I will probably begin to look at other options.

I remain as positive as ever.

    Lmao.

You could have added more detail, like what sort of link building you did, and what keywords you are ranking for....do these get any searches, what is the competition like....etc

Assuming a year has 52 weeks, you will need one whole year to make $10 and 10 years to make $100 for payout.

So I guess you need to ramp things up 100X to make $100 a month.

SERPs are main factor if you are looking for some free traffic. SEO will help you lot in making good visitors on site.

if you will work continue your sites will produce some slow but long term income.

Hah! I remember my first Google check - I have it framed. Why don't you try monetizing your site with something else that'll actually make you real money?

Assuming we're counting every hour of every day (since websites are online 24/7)..

        3 weeks * 7 days per week = 21 days

        21 days * 24 hours per day = 504 hours

        $0.55 / 504 hours = $0.001 per hour

Don't listen to them. My first site took me months to make the first few cents. (Of course, I knew nothing at the time.) It starts with that 0.55 and grows. My first site now makes me hundreds per month. I just kept adding to it and building links. You're off to a good start, keep it up.

Solid point. didn't mean to imply it wasn't a good start. its just the way the title was put that had me wondering out loud.

7 Websites so far and only 55cents into it? Sounds like you might have to reconsider your research in terms of keyword and competition. I don't mean to be condescending, but 55cents in 3 weeks time mean something going wrong.

What do you do to research your keywords?

    Hi,
Kindly be more specific in citing your story for us to analyze it because we don't know what specific method that you've used or what kind of link building technique that was implemented. hoping for any clarifications.

Good job. Just because it took you 3 weeks to make .55 that doesn't mean it will take you another 3 weeks to make .55. Once you get the formula down and you know what works, it becomes second nature. If you went through 7 websites, that actually demonstrates your persistence, which you need in IM.

I would just like to point out that depending on your niche, you can still do great traffic without good rank for your main keyword. I run an affiliate site for tangible products that has google serps of 31 yet gets 500 visitors a month due to much higher rankings for my individual product review pages.

That said, after 3500 visitors, I have only made like 13 adsense clicks which is not so great.

Well. it means you have roughly 13 days to make $99.45!

Seriously, try and up that to 55 cents day, then $1.10, etc.

That in and of itself is not that hard. You can generate traffic using
all sorts of ways, just read the forum.

You also need to tweak content, ad colors, placement, etc.

I started an online community a little over three years ago, throwing AdSense up only on the main page. The site revolves around the forums, however. A year into it, I put adds on the index page of the SMF board. My impressions jumped up a bit, and I was getting a $100 (give or take) check from Google about every nine months.

Then, a year after that, I upgraded the board to IPB and the board ads went away. Impressions dropped to around 300-400 per month, with maybe five clicks, with an average of about $0.48/day. Yippee for me.

I upgraded the board to the latest version of IPB two or three weeks ago. The new version of IPB supports ads natively. I turned them back on. My impressions went up to about 600/day, peaking around 1200 on Thursday (historically the busiest day of the week for the site). Clicks positively skyrocketed to 7 or 8, with a daily average around a buck.

At least it sounds impressive to say, "I upgraded the software and impressions and revenue both jumped a little over 100% *the very next day*."

I did a similar thing after reading Xfactor's thread and threw up a couple sites together. The thing about that guy is that although he is nice... he flip flops on every issue like a politician so you cannot listen to him a hundred percent in any aspect. He tells you to build big sites, then small sites, then medium, then says he never said to build small ones etc...

Nevertheless, I imagine you know that Google doesn't like what he recommends and is known to slap you if they do a manual review.

I have followed his advice for exactly three weeks and have made less then a dollar. After that I started to back link from other places such as directories, different article sites, blogs and within 95 days from hearing about adsense and learning how build my first site I did hit a $100. Now I am in my third month with it and I have made over $70 in two weeks. Is this a way to get rich and get to that $300 or more a day? Not sure, but alongside the small sites I am also learning other things and working on a larger one which will hopefully bring some new challenges which I get to learn from.

I tried to apply to some CPA companies but was either denied or placed on hold for a few more months. They said I need more experience which is fine with me since I already know that.

The Google dance still tends to confuse me as anytime I throw more back links at a site it starts all over again but there is nothing I can do except observe and take notes.

Adsense earning is real but it takes a little smart work to get anything out of it. With the right keyword and as many sites as possible, and also posting on a regular bases you can get there soon.

I totally understand your situation. When I first started online, I earned around .80 in 3 weeks :-) it's quite funny but it's the experience that matters. And from that moment on, I started dreaming of bigger profits. Now, I am earning just enough for my online business. If you want to know some ways to make money, (SURE WAYS) then message me. I can help you with that. :-)

And just to remind you, in having an online business, you also need online tools to make your business better. I also have some of them. :-)

I forgot to mention in my updated post that I got all of my articles from school papers I have written in the past. A lot of my articles that are posted on Ezinearticles have titles such as "Tom Sawyer A Theological Breakdown." Needless to say they have nothing to do with the websites linked in the resource box. Right now I have about 800 article views and a click through rate of 0.05%. On the other hand my articles have been published by others 15 times. 15 free links i'll take that any day.

    P.S.

I think I am going to spend my first adsense check on a Lara Croft cardboard cutout.
