Thank you for you time.
I will like to know how effective, in the terms of traffic from google, is the main keyword in the domain plus other words like e,hub, shop, blog and so on. Does this have the same effect as just the main keyword in the domain or less better?

Additionally, what if the main keyword is taken and you use the hypen to separate in between the keyword ,how effective is this when compare to the main keyword in the domain without hyphen or additional letter or words

I would like to point out that the domain is only one factor in ranking and you can rank #1 without any keywords in the domain name, so the addition of other words or a hyphen won't make that big of a difference in the long run. In the short run in a non-competitive area, the keywords can make a difference to getting ranked faster.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Lots of factors for ranking besides a keyword domain, if your going after just that 1 search then great, if your looking to get your site to rank for a number of terms then it reallly wont matter

As the others are telling you in the posts above, the keyword in the domain is only a part of how Google evaluates a site. But since it is part of what Google evaluates, if you can have the exact keyword in your domain that's best. If it's not available, then using a hyphen or adding a number after the keyword doesn't really hurt you. The real trick is to select a keyword that you can ranked for. Use the Google keyword tool and find one that isn't overly competitve but still relates to your niche.

If I can't get the exact .com that I want, I always add a word at the end...but a "generic" word, like info, site, tips, etc. I have never had a problem ranking with a word added at the end, but I don't recommend words added at the beginning.

Using main keyword in a domain can be effective if you are competing with sites that have attain or at least have the same value in terms of content quality, PR, amount of backlinks, etc. Nevertheless, it can only be just one factor and it's sometimes helpful and sometimes not.

I've been looking through my list of useable keywords and the majority of them already have .com's.

I think I'll just add a small word to the end. Thanks for this thread.
