Can anyone explain to me how a single page on amazon with only 2 backlinks can end up with a PR5 ?

Hi guys,
Just a quick question about a page on amazon this is the page

Just wondering how this page with only 2 backlinks to the page ended up with a PR5 ? i`ve seen many amazon pages ranked high of course and with PR1, 2 and even 3 but never seen a PR5 before but then again i dont really look at the PR of every Amaozon page i see.

How does it do it ?

    It is a PR N/A Greyed out on my toolbar, might be just me though IDK.

    Regardless, only thing I can think of on how it could happen though, is that they had perfect timing when the PR update was happening -- there was a link to this product from a page higher up in the hierarchy of their domain.

    Like on the homepage, Amazon.co.uk: Low Prices in Electronics, Books, Sports Equipment & more they have a special ad for the new kindle e-book. If the PR update was to happen right now on their website, I would think that kindle page would easily become a PR5 or so because of the PR8 homepage link.

    Strange its a PR5 in firefox SEO bar ?
    But thanks for your reply but a PR5 from just a internal backlink is still alot but then again i`m no seo expert.

      Well if you click on some of their 2nd tier pages in their hierarchy, I went to the first one -- Books Amazon.co.uk Books: Fiction, Twilight Saga, Harry Potter, Textbooks, Audiobooks, Biography & more

      You can see it has PR7, just one PR lower than the homepage, and if you look at their links in Yahoo Explorer! you can see there is nothing that would be passing that much PR to that page, its all coming from the PR8 homepage link.

      I personally have always noticed a similar pattern as you descend through the tiers of your site structure.

      I do not really worry or care about PR though, google can give me PR negative 100 as long as they rank my website on the first page

        Yes I agree with you.To ask,is the page well ranked in SERPS? Or what is the advantage of a high PR without good ranking.Money is majorly made in ranking and not high PR.

    If it is PR 5(it's show's N/A in my browser), it could be because it is located on a powerful domain i.e amazon. The powerful domain may be passing juice to this page.
