Can anyone assist me with a duplicate content issue on my blog.
Up and till 3 months ago my blog was shooting up the Alexa rankings and then it took a nose dive.
I was doing nothing different as before. The problem I believe is that every article I posted on the blog I was also posting on a couple of big article direcories. I have since stopped this practice as I now know about duplicate content.
My question is should I delete these posts from my blog (about 20 in total) something I dont want to do or should I delete them from the article directories or is there an alternative.
Can anyone advise me on this.
Many thanks, Marquisman

I did this about five years ago with a similar amount of articles. I posted an article (unique content) on my site and then approx. 2 months later after Google had indexed it, I posted the same article to e-zine articles assuming Google would see my site as the article originator. WRONG!!

Dropped out of googles first page shortly after, now at page 9. I know that Iam being punished somehow by Google because sites listed above me are REALLY poor quality\no links\barely even relevant to my keywords so it's not a competition issue.

I didn't do anything to try and remedy it as at the same time, I shot to top place on Yahoo and Bing. I am at the top spot in Yahoo and Bing now for my keywords and have been for years.
