Hey guys,
So I've built my sites and they are all promoted the same, so...why do I have sites that are on page 1 of Google and in Yahoo I don't find them?

Also, there is only one site I found (from my new sites - up for a month) in Yahoo on page 2 but it's not in Google.

So my question is depending SEO - Do Yahoo considers backlinks more than Google? According to its algorithm....and why do I have sites listed in Google but I don't find them in Yahoo and the opposite around, any clear answer?

Thank you for your help.

Nobody has the exact answer, or knowledge of the Algorithms. Since Google dominates the Search Market, most people focus on trying to figure out what works in Google. Google tends to like inbound links from Quality websites, and lots of them. Yahoo "may" like that too, but links alone won't rank you in Yahoo. If you have a good ranking in Yahoo, be happy. Learn how to improve your ranking in Google and let the real fun begin.

It's worth keeping in mind that Yahoo! is now showing Bing's search results.
Also if you have created new sites, the different search engines will take different lengths of time to index. Bing (now Yahoo) in my experience has been a little slower to index new sites.
    Hope that helps.

Yahoo seems to focus a little more on on page SEO. Ie Keyword in Title, Meta, Description, Domain, H1 Tag, Bold Tag, Paragraph, Image compared to backlinks.

No One can find clear concept of algorithm for Google and Yahoo. Google will consider site age, meta title tag, Page rank, back links and do follow links. but yahoo will consider your site meat keywords and description.

As Kennett mentioned in the post above, Yahoo is supposed to be using Bing's engine to display it's serps. Previously I found Yahoo VERY easy to get top rankings in, and Bing always lagged way behind.

It would SEEM that Bing really likes aged sites - it doesn't have to be years, but it seems they like them at least 3-6+ months old.

One other thing that must be mentioned.. are you REALLY on page 1 of Google? You have to watch out for "personal search" results from big G - they work even when you are logged out, using the same computer. Check using Scroogle scraper, (google it) download and use a browser you've never clicked on serps with (it's what I use Opera for! just remember, do not click any of the serps) or get really extreme and set up a virtual machine using virtualbox. (really, you don't need to go that far) Or you can completely clear your cache, but some argue that doesn't entirely provide accurate results.

Thank you all for your answers, you helped a lot...in that no one really knows
As for Google, yes I am on page 1.
As for Yahoo that likes more on page SEO, I have done the seo there very good so in that case I should be ranked higher. I did all my sites the same and so far I see only one of my new sites (up for a month) in Yahoo on page 2. So, where are the others? All were done the same and uploaded at the same time...that's what I don't understand.

Yes, Google index much faster and almost all my sites are ranked in Google, of the new sites - 4 of them are in page 1 of Google and one site in page 2, the other are far behind...

          - Currently am working now submitting articles to PRLog and other article directories, I hope that could improve their places and get them higher....your thoughts?

          - Also, do I need to publish on various article sites or if I publish many articles on say only EZ is the same? Any clear idea?

Thank you all again for all your help dear friends!

Yes Yahoo and Google has different algorighm. Google more focus on Domain age, meta tags, content and quality backlinks but Yahoo more focus on on page activities like: Meta tags, Content, h1, etc..

      OK,
Just saw that a site of mine is now #3 on its main keyword in Yahoo after building links to it everyday from PR and Articles sites!

Now what troubles me is that I did the same to my other sites (they are all one month old only including the #3 in Yahoo now) and they do not appear in Yahoo...how is that possible?

Having a site #3 in Yahoo while the other sites are not shown? Ideas?

      Thanks guys.

If you have your site in top positions in Google, then you have to worry about Yahoo...Being in top positions is much beneficial as compared to other search engines....So better focus on Google....

They can not give you a straight answer because noone can know the exact algorithm behind yahoo search engine. You can always try yahoo's directory that will definitely help !!

The reasons behind this is that we carry our activity according to Google.
