I can purchase a domain that has roughly 1.32M [exact] searches monthly and 11k daily but the downside is that it's a .name I don't want to pass up the opportunity cause its the ONLY one available at the moment the exact keyword phrase.

Have you seen many .name sites indexed on the first page of google? Also, be careful if it is a trademark name.

Only go with .net, .org, or .com. Just tack on a 'stop word' such as the,my,etc. and grab the .com.

However with a .co name it is great for mispelling traffic such as

competitor.com is easily mistakenly typed competitor.co and you can grab the traffic.

Im not saying your trying to cut corners my point was just try and BUY the .com or .net from the person that has it if its not beign used. If the domain your looking at is to start a new business then go all out thats all......and good luck with the .name

I beg to differ and I may be wrong but according to a lot of people and proof I've seen exact keyword domains rank on page one with 0 DA/ No PR

I agree that in the long run that's true (we'd all still search through Google if it was at Google.name), but I've done a fair bit of domaining myself and have found that in the short term, it can be harder to build up a .name (or anything other than com, net, or org, really) because it has somewhat of a negative, almost spammy connotation (connotation isn't quite the right word I'm looking for, but you get the idea).

I'd advise against getting the .name, and instead adding a short word to the end of your keyword phrase, something like "hq," "now," or "world."

Exact word match domains including .com's will rank below a non-exact match if their is less promotion behind it, that's a fact.

If all other versions of your chosen domain are gone, that is stiff competition.

That is true BUT with an exact domain you have an extra advantage to getting type in traffic (more so for a .com) as more will just type your product or niche and add the .com to it IE; they will type cars.com rather then mycars.com (or cars.name for that matter)
