Market Samurai users, I onto something here?

Today I bought Market Samurai. The reviews were impressive and it seemed to fit in with the business model I want to follow. I have to say that so far it exceeds my expectations and I´m not even half way through the getiing started tutorials!

Now here is the thing. I started a project on a specific keyword. Got my 800 keyword ideas, filtered some words, got 185 possible suitable matches. WHen I go to the next screen "analyze keywords" i get al lmy results in there, I untick all of the top boxes except for the ones that will give me the SEOT, PBR and trends.

I tick on SEOT to get the results ordered in descending order by total amount. first result 559, second result, 456, third result...60, 4th 49, same on 5 and then it goes below 30... so I´m thinking "well, looks like i need only focus on the first two keywords."

Is my reasoning correct? or should I go for the lower ones to get my traffic numbers up? Should I go for the Pareto Principle ( rule of 80/20) or gather up all the other lesser keywords?

Your input is much appreciated.

You should take a look at Title Competition and also the SEO Competition which is in another tab. You can reverse engineer your main competitors websites if they are optimized, or if no one is optimized, but you see a lot of high PR sites, then you can see if they have any anchor text with your keyword. Best case scenario is no one is trying to optimize for the keyword and the top websites are not very strong competitors.

It´s just a shame the software doesn´t let me go any further at the moment as apparently there is maintenance going on at Google.

there are a lot of things to consider. SEOT is only part of it. You may also want to check the PBR value and SEOC value. With regard to SEOT, make sure that your match type is set to EXACT to make sure that MS give you a more accurate overview of the results.

for PBR value- I always go for 70% and above

for SEOT value- I go for 300 and above daily, on exact match type

and sometimes though it might have low SEOT value at least a 100 but high PBR value
above 80% with high SEOC. I also consider that. Knowing that the kw has high commerciality value.

and in choosing secondary kw- I choose top 5 kw in terms of SEOT value with above 80% PBR value

This are only for the keyword research. The competition analysis is another story.

Instead of SEOC it should be SEOV. Thanks thanks.

You mention that you set your PBR around 80...but in their tutorials, they are using 15. Why the big difference?

$97 if you sign up for the free trial period (12 days I think). The $97 price lasts for 7 days .
