Since search engines like Google are thinking of real time search, google has released the beta version, "www.google.com/realtime". What will be the outcome of realtime search? Will SEO survive?
#google #realtime #search. #seo #survive

I'm really not sure. But since one of the Realtime things they'll include is blog posts, I think it might survive. What it might make us all do is actually post relevant content often

Let's break it down shall we?

    1) Google's googlebot will visit sites, use an algorhythm to ascertain what that site is about and then add that info into a cached index (not the main index).
    2) Google assigns your site various factor ratings and then at some point includes that site into the main index, taking it out of the cache and including it into the main.
    3) Search engine results (whether instant or not) will be dependant upon WHAT your site is about.

I'll tell you right now, if you want to have a sustainable long term investment in your sites, ranking wise, i'd move to a multi-faceted linkbuilding campaign that includes real time social media, blog posts, and of course the ever present static links from directories, bookmarks etc.

I had a tweet last night show up 10 mins later for a top listing on google concerning Continental's power outage at the airport. Granted, I wasn't TRYING to rank for anything, but somehow google found me and put me up there at the top of the heap.

I dont think the question "Will SEO survive" matters really because SEO is ever evolving At least thats how I have seen it over the years. SEO will always survive but if you learn and evolve with it you will do just fine.

SEO will always be a big deal. After all, search engines will always be in the business of delivering the most relevant results to their users. Without SEO, how else would all of those results be ranked? Like anything else, SEO is certainly going to change and evolve as the search engines do, but it will always be important.

It will definitely survive and realtime thing added by Google should not be scared of by SEOs. This is just facebook-twitter-other social stuff search. Doesn't influence on the organic seo stuff.

Definitely yes, Why? Because as human being evolves then i conclude that technology will speaks for itself. SEO will only pass generation by generation.

I think that the realtime search will just be another component of google. Kinda like google has image search, web search, shopping etc...No way by any means an end for seo...

If the aim of SEO is to optimise your website and its content for the targeted keywords so that it is found more easily by search engines (but really, by PEOPLE using search engines), then I can't see how that could ever disappear.

Surely, the way we achieve this will change and evolve over time, but the principal of matching the content to the terms being searched for, I can't see that changing any time soon.

And by the way, just for laughs I did a search for "dog training" (ha ha) on the new Google Realtime Serch and guess what, NONE of the results that came up contained useful links!

Granted, these results were "live" and were being updated every few moments. I stayed on that page some 2 minutes and occasionaly a link would come up that seemed relevant.

Is this how most people want to search though?? Just go and do a regular Google search and see which one YOU prefer..

Yeah, I think SEO will stay for a while yet. In one form or another.

    Vlad.

    Search Engine Optimization

Note the first two words. As long as there are search engines there will be ways to optimize. I guess I just don't understand the purpose of this thread

Yes SEO will definitely "survive" as long as you realize that SEO is ever-evolving. Looking at "Google Realtime" it's purely twitter tweets. Google has been implementing tweets into it's regular serps for quite some time now, but only where it's actually warranted. (like right after I watched an episode of "Shark Tank" and google'd the product the sharks jumped on, everyone on twitter was talking about it and google showed the tweets in the main serps)

You have to remember that Google's #1 priority is to provide the best results possible for a user's query. That might come in handy if you search something very newsworthy or that's generating a lot of buzz, but twitter will NEVER provide good results for most other searches. (like "how to build a house", "seo training", etc)

Yes it would survive..may be not on the fronts where it exists for now...but the people would find a way for it!
The point to consider is realtime search is useful for some cases only, for most of the other cases the normal search results are the most beneficial.Hence no problem for seo.
