Profile Backlinking Question + My Expierence

Question how many URL's per profile are you using and have you noticed any difference in the effectiveness of the backlinks?

i.e. posting 1 URL per profile versus 10 URL's per profile?

I have 2 different teams backlinking
1 of them is only posting 4 links per profile, the other is posting 5.

It's to hard to tell explicitly, but the 4 links per profile seem to be more powerful. Both teams are using completely different Lists (different domains, different PR, different URL's, alternating anchor text) so there are a lot of factors to consider.

The only rationalization I can come up with is the amount OBL's you're creating which is degrading the quality of the already low quality Backlink.

Any one else have EXPERIENCE with this....?

I used to have the same thought as you as well, whether too many OBL will actually dilute the amount of backlink juice your getting. But if you read Terry kyle's Hydra backlinks (Go google it) he completely disagrees with this.

For me I only have 2 links in each profile I know its a waste of juicy links. Anyways do you indexed those PLs? If you havent you should check out Backlink Energizer, Backlink Index Express and Backlinkbooster.

I've tried 1 link, 2 links, 3, 4, 5. There are way too many pages and time required to rank for me to know one is better than the other. But they all work.

Frankly profile links have so little Pr juice its impossible to make a claim one way or the other. On a page that actually has PR I would love to see terry's proof if he claimed that there as well. He'd be wrong. However when it comes to profile links with little value in PR juice i can see it. You may be getting more anchor text weight than you are PR. However overdoing it on any profile link is going to increase the links potential for being removed if its seen by an admin

Profile pages on high PR authority domains do gradually build PR for the most part after a few months. I have plenty of profile pages with a PR of 4-5 and the total link count for the page internal and external, is only around 8. That provides an insane amount of juice but is a long term strategy.

Not to mention how easy it is to boost profile PR's with minimal backlinking to them.

Sorry Derek I was and am a backlink package provider. I have seen THOUSANDS upon thousands of profiles and thats just absolutely false. You can build up any page if you provide links to them but profile links do not generally build up to PR4s and PR5 on page naturally after a few months. If this were even anywhere near true then many of us here that have been doing this for years would have hundreds upons hundreds of PR 5 links going to our sites and profile links would dominate every and any search and have an incredible aftermarket.

anyone can prove this by doing the search "backlinks" which quite a few profile backlink sellers try to rank for with their links. Do backlink checks for some sellers that have placed those links a year ago and you will seldom see significant PR on the pages unless you see the sites getting boosted by other pages with PR. you are really misleading people who will now expect this to happen with their profile links and it rarely does. As a matter of fact many of them stay stuck right at N/A.

I'm not saying its impossible for it to happen or that I have never seen it if you chance upon a high Pr domain with few profiles or if more importantly the navigational structure allows a direct pass of PR to the profile sections but claiming this as a natural occurrence over time is patently false.

You need tons of profile links, just make sure to include a few links ( I use 2 or 3) so it doesnt look like spam

Lol, actually depends on the size of the forum and how well its moderated. I have a few forums and as soon as I see someone posting more than 2 links in their sig which are also irrelevant, I hit the 'delete user' button.

The users are even informed the site is nofollow, blah blah blah at signup but sadly people just don't listen.....I blame automation tools for this as well!

I think one link is enough so it will be hard for the admin to detect your profile as a spam or your intention just to leave a link.
