I have a site that was on page 1 (using good on-page SEO and original content) until the server went down for about 4 days. Then it ended up on page 3 then disappeared. After the server came back up, I re-submitted to my facebook page, bookmarking, etc. It re-showed up on page 3.
I checked the top sites in competition for the keyword I want to rank for. The top site has 2,000+ backlinks, mainly from 2 PR4 blogs (their link is on the side-bar). The site in #2 spot shows about 24 links which mainly do not work (the link page only states that the site is no longer valid or something like that). The sites after that show around the same number of links - including my ezine article in spot 4-5 of page 1.
I update the site every 4-5 days.
I have 2 ezine articles linked to it (1 on page 1 for same keyword and one on page 2 for another keyword) and about 20 other articles pointing to the site and the ezine articles from about 9 other top directories. Articles are spun a bit.
I have sitewide 1-way links from a PR4 blog, PR5 blog and a PR 6 blog. These links are newish, less than 1 week. I have comments to blogs, PR 0 and up, both follow and no follow, directory submissions (url, not article), RSS feeds, etc. So now my site has fallen to the bottom of page 4.
What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. I did not post the url for obvious reasons, but if anyone can help I would pm it or do whatever it takes. Thank you.
