Anyone noticed any changes with Google local listings this morning?

I'm seeing the local search and organic results merging showing a total of 10 listings 6 of which are local listings merged with the meta title and descriptions of the organic results.

Anyone else seeing this?

    I haven't noticed it. What keyword do you search? Can you post screen shots here?

    The new layout was displaying for a whole bunch of search terms, after doing some digging around it seems its been in the pipeline for quite some time so fingers crossed it will be rolled out live soon!

      Ive seen it a few times over the last month, not good news for affiliate marketers. 3 organic results only buried on the bottom of the 1st page.

    True, but extremely good news for me, I'm an in-house SEO for a hotel group who is dominating the organic listing but struggling to move up the local listings :-)

      I find it strange that they are happy to let google places take up so much space despite all the fraudulent listings that exist, perhaps its a $$$ issue.

      I've seen a few new variations from trying a few different searches tonight. One was not too differnt from now with the 7 box google places a little larger and clearer to read than before.

      The other was entirely different with the google places listings looking exactly the same as organic results apart from the address and map pin so effectively the 1st organic result is number 8.

      I better go buy myself some bricks and mortar :rolleyes:
