Can You Answer This Question About SEO and Paid Links

I have a seo question. Links for sale:

PR 4,5,6,7,8 or 9 links like ones for sale on this forum

you buy them monthly and/or yearly

If I have a site on page 3 of Google for a very non-competitive domain name

Hypothetically I bought one or two of the high PR links, a week later my site goes to number one on Google.

My question is:
How many months would I need keep those two high PR links that got me to the number one position before I did not need them anymore to maintain my number one position or do you have to keep them forever.

I understand that it depends on how difficult the keyword is to rank for, the on page optimization,
etc..... I just mean, generally speaking.

    You would generally need them forever, unless you replaced them with alternative links. If they are higher PR links, then it means that Google likely crawls those pages fairly frequently. So, it wouldn't take Google long to realize your links were no longer there.

      I've had sites on page one number one for a few months now without building a lot of new high PR links. My site stays on number one but I am sure if a competitor comes along and builds a lot more than I do then he would eventually overtake me so It's best to keep building links over time even though you are on number one.

    Obtaining high pr rank links does not guarantee that you are going to get bumped up to the number 1 spot by any means. So long as you keep feeding your site fresh content and building links over time and are all ready on the front page. It will be easy to get to the number one spot with very little work but pr is not every thing.

    The reason I say this is my pr0 site is in the number 4 spot for this very competitive keyword

    Here is proof I already googled it for you to see look for massive marketers

      Um, that has nothing to do with the OP's question. The OP specifically asked about the effect of removal of links on SERP rankings.

      In addition, you seem to be confused about the importance of PR. We aren't talking about the PR of the ranking site in Google. I agree that the PR of the ranking site in Google doesn't mean a whole lot. What the OP was talking about was the authority and PR of the backlinks. That is a very important factor when it comes to backlinks. Comparing applies to oranges here.

      Again, this has nothing to do with the OP's question. The OP didn't start a thread asking about how to get ranked in Google. Instead, the OP asked about what would happen if a site that was ranking based upon a certain set of backlinks had the backlinks pulled from under them.

      To the OP: From now on, SEO questions are better posted in the SEO subforum where answers are more likely to be in line with your posted question i'm afraid.

        Yes I understand high pr backlinks are what we want to obtain. However he was asking how long he would be able to obtain a 1 spot for 2 High pr backlinks. As I was saying google cares less about pr anymore. The only reason you want high pr backlinks is for 2 reason.

        A it is a more autoritive site that has been around alot longer and generates alot more traffic.

        B because the second it goes on this site it gets picked up by google.

        Having these types of links does not mean it is going to push you up any higher in the serps by any mean. Yes it does help in the long run and will help increase the autority of your site. But it doesnt mean that you will move up any just for having these links in your repertory.

    Janet are you talking about actual PR9 on page links (there are not many PR 9 links for sale) or links on another page of a site that has a PR9 somewhere else?

    Tom is right. You will need the links forever. They can work in helping you reach your goal, but then, your website cannot maintain the same rank without them. An alternative is to create good content and get high PR sites naturally linking to you because you have a valuable website. After all, buying links is still a way to game the system that is why you need to spend a lot just to maintain the links.

    Now I am just wondering, why don't you just use the money you are spending on links monthly on PPC or other media buys? It will drive guaranteed traffic and you can just perfect your system to properly convert the traffic into sales so you don't have to worry about the money you are spending. Just a thought.
