Is my site dancing with Google and AOL??? :(

The world may never know...lol

Guess I'll have to keep and eye on it over the next few days and see what happens.

I just found it strange that it fell in both Goog and AOL on the same day?

As you may already know, AOL's search results are powered by Google so it is very odd that you were ranking #1 on AOL and #4 on Google. Usually, your rank on AOL will correspond with your Google ranking.

It sounds like a Google dance, but there is no way to be certain. If you know how many and from where your backlinks were coming, you could check and see if you've gotten any new backlinks. Inbound links are the most common reason in my experience for a site to dance around. For example, if I build some good links to my site, it may drop down or completely out of the SERPS for a few days or weeks, but then return in a higher position.

If you got some inbound links (whether you built them or not), it could cause your site to drop down...but this drop is usually short lived and in my experience your site will return in a higher position than it was previously.

There is really no way to be certain but I would look at your backlinks and see if you see anything new. If there are some new links, then I would stay hopeful and you're site may bounce back higher.

If it's not attributed to links, it could just be a random fluctuation. Random fluctuations happen occasionally for a variety of reasons (most of which I don't know). I would say, whether or not your site comes back to keep adding content and backlinks and it will eventually return. In cases when your site drops, it's important to maintain your previous pace of work to keep things looking consistent.
