How accurate is Google KWT?

Could you give me your feedback on the accuracy of Google KWT? Personally, for most keywords it's gives me a general idea but I found one keyword that states it has something like under 10,000 per month yet my google analytics states it's only receiving around 3 visitors per day for this keyword. We're ranked third. I'm thinking perhaps my analytics isn't installed properly but if that was so then the analytics reports would return 0 visitors per day and would inform me that the analytics isn't installed properly. Anybody have this HUGE discrepancy from what google kwt returns and an actual visitor reports?

    Google Keyword tool is pretty accurate in my experience, and pretty much as accurate as your going to get for free.

    The site you have ranked at number 3 should be getting around 8% of the total traffic assuming there is no local listings.

    When you do your research are you looking at [exact match]? This will give you the most accurate figure for estimating traffic.

    I have found it to be very inaccurate. It may be correct for some keywords and WAY (WAY!!) off on others. Way off in both directions.

    Methinks Google is doing this on purpose. They sure know how many searches they get...

    It provides a good ballpark figure of the monthly searches. The clicks per day count isn't accurate as it's taking into account the position of sponsored listings which get far less traffic than the organic results. I believe about 80% of users will click in the organic results.

    i dont think that its accurate. Because three of my keywords with 19000+ local searching are on top 3 ranking but i am hardly getting any traffic from these keywords...

    I don't think that it is accurate. The KWT shows less that 100 searches per month for a particular keyword but I am getting around 250+ visitors per day for the same keyword.
