Adsense for a "dead" website that gets traffic

I have a website for a forestry company that hasn't had any activity for a while. We are currently not putting efforts into that business. HOWEVER, we are getting over 1000 visits per month on the website, mostly from search engines, and there is absolutely no search engine optimization done. No H1 tag and no meta tags. By adding H1 and meta tags, I could probably considerably increase the traffic.

This is the section of the website that gets considerable traffic. It is documentation about various species of trees in French.
Documentation sur la foresterie

I'm thinking...

Could we get income for that website by adding Google Adsense? How much income could we expect? Are there other easy ways to monetize all that traffic?

Any page that gets traffic has the potential of getting a couple of clicks , Your niche may even have some nice value clicks waiting for you . I doubt it would be a massive cash cow but every penny helps as they say

    I agree with @Riverwire.

It doesn't hurt to slap some adsense ads on there to generate some revenue. If it's not enough it's really easy to take it off.

My gut tells me you probably won't get much $ per click in the forestry niche, but you never know.

The plus side is that forestry traffic will probably click your ads at a higher percentage than a lot of other niches. I don't suppose there are any affiliate products you could promote through this site?

      1. I know nothing about Google Adsense. Should I put only 1 banner? Several banners? On top? On the side? At the bottom?

      2. I don't know of any affiliate product, I could search on Plimus or Clickbank...

      3. I have no clue how much it could bring in, but if it brings pennies for a year, it accumulates. Especially if I do some very basic SEO work and it increases the traffic.

Wasblue, how much traffic you get?

I have a few website that I use ad-sense on with a small fraction of that traffic and make a few dollars a week. I would imagine that the amount of traffic you get it would certainly be worth trying out.
