How long for serps placement after indexing?

Hi All - I just launched a new MFA type site that is super optimized and competing with pr0-3 sites that all have under 30 backlinks for the longtail keyword I am going after.
I see that the site is indexed in google however, my page is not ranked in even the top 1000 google serps positions. I would expect for my site to start on probably page 2-6 (no backlinks yet).
Has anyone experienced this sort of thing? If so, how long did it take before you made it to the top 100 Serps spots on google?
