I have been working for 3 months to get my website up there on the search engines. I have been writing and submitting lots of articles and doing almost constant tweeks to my site. Although my knowledge is limited, whatever I have done seems to have worked.
The phrase I have been pushing for is hypnosis recordings and I have managed to get it onto the bottom of page 1 on Google and number 1 on Yahoo.

I would now like to push for more key phrases like hypnosis downloads or hypnosis cds but I am unsure where to start. Do I have to make new pages on my site with altered words although the content will be the same. I hope my question makes sense and someone can advise.

I like grabbing a domain with the kw in it....for each main kw anyways. Other wise, yah start a page that says " hypnosis downloads " and go from there....if its a main kw, with competition and lots of volume,

id be tempted to laod up a new wp theme with a new domain...just my opinin....then link your other site to it.

Sorry, I forgot to mention. One of my ideas was to create very similar pages on my site but with altered words. I would then have these pages not shown on my homepage so that the site still makes sense

If you only plan on changing the keywords, that is where you will very likely run into the duplicate content penalty that everyone talks about. On your own site, duplicate content is still very much a no-no if you want Google love at all.

You could go for other specific keywords with individual sites but if they're all hypnosis related then you could just build out you existing site targeting one main new keyword on each page.

You can also make this even more effective by putting in more related keywords into each post or page and that can help you get better rankings and more visitors.

      Hope this helps,

also long tail keyword phrases will easily get into the search as the keyword density will be less.
