How to keep ranking well in google for long time possible?

hey!
all of us know that getting ranking well in first, it's the most hardest SEO work ever and when you did it you feel happy by killing your competition, but my question is how to keep ranking well for long time possible?
is getting more backlinks, the best solution for that?

    Become an authority site. Not much to explain. Terrific content, link bait,
    backlinks, etc. Once you get there, you are tough to beat. That's why
    it is pointless when people ask, "How can I beat so-and-so..."
    Sometimes you can't. Sometimes you don't know. Of course I am talking
    about sites that plan to stick around and grow. Not a MFA (I hate that
    term) that is tossed together and left to die. You can take a MFA and
    turn it into an authority. Which is why I hate the term. Completely
    mislabels a lot of sites on both sides.

    What's authority site? I hear that many times but I never care about it, maybe it's the time to look back to it.

      My definition of an authority site is a site that has a lot of links that are not gained by the self promotional link building. Self promotional link building is things like directory submission, forum profiles and posting, social book marking, article marketing, etc. ie they have a lot of links given freely by other sites as they actually want to link to the site because its good.

    I don't really know what happened but when I tried to search my site using popular keywords going to it... I can no longer find my site (well I can if I dig deeper)

    The thing is i still get traffic

    1. Referrals - now that I my search traffic is on the low I am getting more from my referrals (other websites, social media)
    2. Quality Content/Unique Content - I still get traffic from quality/unique content that you have.. by unique it can mean that you are the only one supplying that kind of content on the web

    Getting in top is the hardest thing to do at first, your right with that.
    But to maintain in top is not that hard because the longer your site gets on top the harder it is to go down.
    Because you are already indexed you have become a trusted site. All you just have to do is some backlinking and some minor upgrades on your site some onpage optimasation.

    Keep writing quality articles and your site will keep ranking well. I have a stock market tool site where I hadn't promote in years and still rank well because the tool is useful to investors. If you don't have any tool on your website, the best thing is to keep writing articles.

    I think in order to maintain the rank is just to maintain also doing SEO. It is best also if you will apply the new strategies if you have.

    Building trust is a key. With all the things that are being told about SEO, one thing that will never go away is to build a trusted site. WHy? Search engines want trusted sites in the top and want them to stay long term.....

    I think Multi Blogging will help you for this for keep ranking well in google for long time then link building and well optimize the site for the maintenance don't forget the quality content to make quality backlinks.
