Yep, that's what he did. Pretty slick way to do that actually.
I would have never thought of that method in a million years.

, without any info to go on then I'd assume its; its domain age that is providing the pr or its got a 301 redirect powering it, give a link and get a firm answer.

I think the same idea two with redirecting. But I have some confusion on that technique. If I remove the redirection, Do PR will back down to zero?

What did you use to check the backlinks? If you are using any tools by Google , it's not accurate because Google doesn't show all the backlinks to a site for certain reasons.

I see no no mystery here. :confused:

I did a quick check and discovered that page has a backlink from a PR 4 page. PageRank is passed from that PR 4 page to his page.

What are you trying to say? That PR is a measure of relevance and goodness? According to Google it is based on the relative number of backlinks to your page weighted by the PR of the linking pages.

Why not?

If you get a linkback from Google.com homepage or Facebook.com homepage, you shall come up to PR 9 or even 10. All you need is one backlink. That's all.

A site of mine started with a PR of 2. It had a ton of content and lots of internal linking. No external linking was done once that PR was awarded. You can get PR with goood content and internal linking alone.
